Johan are too cool for school.....,

Johan are a band from Holland who write classic guitar tunes. Influences: Pavement ("Payment"!), Pixies, a little Guided by Voices. The fact that they sometimes "dip into" Elvis Costello or Bowie influences makes it a little odd now and then! Check out the standout track "Everybody Knows" above....

I think this is one of the best power pop records ever made. Great for any fan of Superdrag, Dinosaur Jr., Teenage Fanclub, Matthew Sweet, etc.
The songs are hard, melodic, and passionate, without ever getting emo-cheesy. I love it.
