Johann Adolf Hasse: Requiem; Miserere is a splendid recording with astounding sound quality. I must admit that I had never listened to Hasse's music before. To my great surprise he is a very accomplished composer indeed. The book-let is a quite sparse piece of work but contains some well written essays by Ortun Landmann. Hasse was very popular during his own life-time, only to be almost completely forgotten after his death. This is a shame since for a long time this amazing composer was not played. Now he gets his just appreciation once more and he is a superior composer to many of todays composers that can only dream of writing this kind of music. 5 well-deserved stars indeed!
