Great introduction
I like Venezia's little books about famous artists. I think he does a nice job of introducing the reader to Vermeer, his work, and the circumstances and people who affected his art.

Dull...
This is the first book of the series I buy... I wanted to check one title out before buying other books by this author. I won't be buying more. The narration style is just awful, the information uninteresting... I thought I could at least use it for its images, but the reproduction quality, at least in my copy, is very very bad. For not much more money, there are...

This is the first book of the series I buy... I wanted to check one title out before buying other books by this author. I won't be buying more. The narration style is just awful, the information uninteresting... I thought I could at least use it for its images, but the reproduction quality, at least in my copy, is very very bad. For not much more money, there are beautiful art books for children out there. This one, even if the quality of the images were good, at almost 7 US dollars, is too expensive for what you get.
