John Adams Space Cadet and the Mars Station

John Adams, newly graduated from the Space Academy, gets his first assignment. Go to the Mars station and upgrade the shield generators. The pirates, from a base hidden in the asteroid belt, are trying to take over the station. If successful they will control all space from the moon base to the badlands. The story bounces back and forth between John and Katy (John’s backup), trying to get the shields to produce more power, and the pirates trying to stop them from doing so. As John gets closer and closer to getting the shields upgraded, the pirates get closer and closer to claiming the Mars Station. If the pirates get command of the station and discover the real secret hidden there, they can control all of known space. Can John get the shields fixed before the pirates claim the station? The Space Command is breathlessly awaiting the answer.
