This was a compromise, but it worked out very well. I definitely wanted a board with a "blood groove" all the way around it, and my wife wanted a board with a totally flat surface. this has both, so you can just turn it on the side you want. That's a big plus, in my house.
I especially like the size of it. Big enough to carve a full size turkey on, yet small enough to fit in most any storage place.
A very high quality cutting board, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Nice solid cutting board, great for cutting stuff like tomatoes and watermelon and a lot easier than plastic boards to clean after cutting raw meats. Have had it for about a month so far and it has been in use almost every day.

Bought John Boos 18-by-12 Maple BBQ Board as a birthday gift for my brother. He was quite happy to receive this. The board was very attractive and quite sturdy. Great product.

Can't say enough good things about this board. It's heavy, beautiful, functional, a piece of art! Wouldn't be surprised if it lasted for decades. Something I especially like about it are the deep finger grooves on both ends, which makes it easy to pick up and carry. This was a birthday present for my husband and it was definitely a BIG hit!

I received two cutting boards for Christmas. The smaller one has already split and is badly warped. I hope the larger one does not suffer the same fate. Very disappointed. I had my previous cutting boards, from another manufacturer, for over 20 years without any splitting or warping.

Very nice size for our kitchen. Recommed you cut out a template to ensure you order the correct size for your kitchen. Very substantial and we have cured it for 7 days. Looks great.

My husband is quite the cook (and especially likes to grill) and I really wanted to get him a nice cutting board with a deep trench for father's day. We have only had this cutting board since June and it is not used every night. Already there are multiple splits on both ends of the board. I have had my cheap bed bath and beyond cutting boards last longer then this expensive heavy cutting board did. Needless to say I will never buy a John Boos board again. I am very disappointed about the quality because I love how they look and some day when I had a bigger kitchen was planning on buying one of their big butcher blocks. However, now I will look else where.

This thing is hefty! I bought it for my new set of Ginsu knives and it works great. It's so nice to have a flat cutting surface to cut stuff, as opposed to a plate. I also got some Boos Block cream to preserve the cutting surface. I recommend this product highly.

Ive used it a hand full of times and this cutting board is just perfect. Not too light and not too heavy.
Its made of good quility wood and i do recommend this board. Best one I have for when i do my Barbq's.

Very nice, heavy, durable, elegant looking cutting board. Love the wood and the blood/juice draining lip around the edge of one side AND the solid flip-side. Also like the indented handles on either side of the board. Worth every penny...
