Her John Burnett was a Jacobite Capt of Artillery. captured at Carlisle found guilty by the court in London but reprieved after swearing allegiance to the King and transported to the colonies for a minium of 7 years. This book while "fiction" paints a thrilling account of the family's life in some hard times.
