This book has me a bit bewildered. The color painting featured on the front and back covers is not a Buscema sketch, but a painting by someone else. Also, I had hoped to learn about the man whose work I've admired since I was a boy reading Conan comic books. But the book has very few words, and almost no information. However, if it's simply John Buscema sketches you're looking for, this book won't disappoint. It presents enough rough pencils and finished inks to provide insight into the artist's process, and demonstrates a broad spectrum of facial expressions, body movements, and full comic cover compositions.

A near perfect book of sketches and doodles by the last , and greatest of figurative draughtsman of the last 50 years. Sadly his kind won't be seen again on this earth, but this wonderful book is a great testimony to his talent/ skill and art.

My only regret, which I was able to fix with a razor blade, was that the person who put the book together felt so little of John Buscema the artist that they had to put thier own amatuerish bad art on the front and back cover.Thanks for putting the book together, but next time keep your graphiti away from the museum walls.
