5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Album by an Outstanding Artist, May 18, 2000
This review is from: John Conlee: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
John Conlee is truly a living legend in the country music business. This album, one of the earlier releases, puts his melodious voice to the test with such greats as Rose Colored Glasses, Backside of Thirty and I don't remember Loving You. One of my favorites, Common Man is sung with style that makes you cling to each word. Truly a classic album, and perhaps the one to own if you only can have one!

5.0 out of 5 stars John Conlee kicks some major bootie, July 6, 2000

This review is from: John Conlee: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
I have to admit, I almost forgot about John Conlee until about two years ago when he came to a nearby county fair. I was taken aback at how many great songs he did. Soon after the show I started looking all over for any of his works, and finally found this tape at a second-hand store somewhere. It is a jewel. It may lack a few of his greatest songs, but you can't go wrong with this one. It is a shame this album is so hard to find. I'll guarantee you if more people saw him live, and radio stations started playing his songs again, you'd ship out a lot of his albums.

5.0 out of 5 stars John Conlee's music reminds me of my best childhood memories, May 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: John Conlee: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Every song on this album is great. I remember my parents buying this cassette when I was a child and I listened to it over and over again. I have been unable to locate another copy of it. I will continue to look for it. I hope his Greatest Hits aren't lost forever!

My wife is a big John Connolly fan. She has had this album in several earlier versions, from vinyl to 8-trak, etc. Her new car only accomodates CD's. So, before we even took delivery of the new car, I ordered this to replace her cassette version. Believe it or not, she likes this CD more than the new car, which she loves!

This ten track c.d. contains ten top ten hits.
Here is some of John Conlee's best songs ever!

If your a Conlee fan you might like to check out

There are many more hits on those two choices then contained here.

Footnote: Nine of these ten are on his "20 Greatest hits" c.d.,
the one song that is not is "Baby your something" a top ten in 1979.
Conlee had 32 songs chart from 1978 to 1990.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great album..., August 7, 2009

The song I remember more than any of Johns other hits was "Rose Colored Glasses". When I was a kid in junior high, our dad would often drag my younger brother and I up to the American Legion Post #81 in Duncanville TX. Our parents had divorced when I was six or seven years old and he was raising us. Anyway, I remember always playing this and Blondie's "The Tide Is High" on the jukebox while dad sat and drank with his bar buddies. That place always seemed full of smoke but we made do so long as dad gave us quarters to feed the video games, pool table, and jukebox.

John, if your reading this, we need a DVD concert where your singing your hits!
I own the CD and its great.

I've waited like Karen Johnson of California for this album, but never see any release. You state "check back from time to time " and i have done that many times with no results. I need a couple copies of this album (new)

Thanks Bill Downey Wilmington, De

Why the heck can't I find this on CD? My record is all but worn out - just the best! Can't listen to a record in the car - what do I have to do to get this on CD?
