John Constantine, Hellblazer: India

After the death of his lady, John Constantine manages to finds a way to bring her back, however he must be cleanses of all his sins. So the Laughing Magician heads to India to find enlightenment and purify his soul. However, an ancient evil is killing up-and-coming starlets and somehow Constantine must find a way to stop it in order to clean his slate. Following this, Constantine's punk days come flooding back when a call from an old mate has him looking into a vicious secret that could rock British's government.

I really wanted to like this book. I loved Peter Milligan's "Human Target" books, but this book is really just anticlimactic. Both stories have great buildup but then rushes to finish, leaving many questions unanswered. The ending to "India" is more than irritating when honestly it feels like most of it was pointless. "No Future" is the same, but better in some regards.

The artwork is somewhat solid. I'm not a big fan of Giuseppe Camuncoli, mostly because his work always feels unfinished or way too square, but it's still pretty good here. Simon Bisley's artwork, for both the covers and "No Future," is really good, evening out the smirks with the hellfire.

Overall this book is a bit of a disappointment. Stories are over way too fast, only resolving a few questions while leaving more to linger. Artwork is solid though could be better at times. For about $10 or less I really can't complain too much on it if you're collecting Hellblazer, like me, then you're going to buy it. But if you're looking to get into the series then I would highly recommend getting the new reprint of Original Sins. Hellblazer: India is printed on newspaper style paper. There are no extras this time through either, bummer.

A great, great read with Fantastic art work. Some worth tattooing. I m giving it a four just because as far as JC goes, it would be unfair to the amazing stories we ve seen over the years. Definitely a worthwhile buy for any comic book reader. Even one not familiar with the old bastard's tales from hell.
