I bought this JD tractor for my grandson in April, and he has played with this tractor almost every day. My grandson is 21 months old and he does wonderfully on it, the steering is obviously a learning curve but he had a small tricycle before he got the tractor so he was already beginning to understand the turning concept. The only thing that causes minor problems is the hard plastic tires in the back. If you get into wet or high grass(4"-5") they spin. We attached an old bicycle tire (cut and trimmed to fit) on the drive wheel for more traction and it improved traction about 70%. Though maybe not for every 18-20 month old child, (he is attended always) at the ripe old age of 2yrs this tractor is a great toy.

We got our son this tractor for his 1st birthday. He is quite a bit bigger than most 1-year olds... He loves this toy and enjoys riding it around the house... although his steering skills are not very good... My one complaint is that my son likes to pull up on the steering wheel and it constantly snaps off, when the steering column snaps off it surprises him and usually puts him off-balance and then he falls... I fixed it by using a strong glue to secure the steering column in place while maintaining it's functionality. It just would of been nice if the designers would of thought of that as well... Overall I recommend this tractor.
He loves putting his stuffed animals in the wagon and taking them on a ride... We are all pretty happy with this purchase.

I bought this for my 3 year old son and was really surprised at the poor quality, especially since its a Peg Perego. Only one of the wheels really spin. Most of the time we have to push to get it going. For the price it falls significantly short. Additionally there is no reverse. We also bought a Fisher Price power wheels truck for my other son (also 3) which was cheaper and was amazed to see it perform much better. Both have the same power, but the Fisher Price one has a reverse function, both rear wheels spin (which they should)!
I'm really disappointed with this product.
