Very good review of history, the goood and bad. So many books only talk about the good things, almost like an advertiisment. The only drawbabk is this book was published in 1984 and does not bring the reader up to the current date.
Very good review of Deere's International sales efforts and the struggles og the 1970's breaking into these markets. Being the best was not always good enough at that time.

I grew up on and around John Deere equipment, so this book was a no-brainer read for me. It takes a long time to get through, but has a lot of great information on the company formation, the people who made the company and some of the products they created. From John Deere to William Hewitt, each CEO/President had their own style and this book explains how it affected the future of the company.

A definite must read for the hard-core John Deere fan.

We had the John Deere's Company book for several years, let someone borrow it, who assumed we were giving it to him! Our jacket end was a little frayed and torn. When searching for the book, I wanted it in EXCELLENT condition, I thought excellent to seller may be of same quality as my old book, which I would label as good or fair. However, it was excellent! Must have come from an estate sale, and those who inherited it, were not interested in the book. I was very impressed with the shipping box too, there was no way the book could be damaged in shipping. My family buys new items from Amazon and we have always been pleased with our purchases. After this 'used' purchase, we will certainly purchase more 'used' products from Amazon!
