May Be A Good Two Player Game,
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: John Elway's Quarterback [E]
I remember this being a great arcade game, but the NES version is a poor translation. If you're playing against the computer, it will always be the default New York. It's almost impossible to lose against the computer. It never punts on 4th down, but instead almost always throws an interception. Tackling the receiver seems to insure an interception. On offense, simply hold down the B button and move the arrow until it's near a receiver, then release. It doesn't really matter much what play you run though shotgun and bomb are the safest. The computer middle linebacker always rushes so you don't have to worry about coverage on the receivers. Finally, if you let the play selection clock run out, the default play is a weak line of scrimmage but if you pass the ball quickly to one of the open receivers, he then out-runs the defense, at an abnormally rapid speed, for an easy touchdown. The graphics and sound are the basic, early-period NES vintage. It may be a good two-player football game though.
