I first heard of Rev Hammer through his work with the Levellers and liked his contribution which lead me to buy this CD.
This is an Opera of works telling the story of John Lilburne and his stuggle for liberty during the English Civil War. If you are not into history, don't let that put you off.
A collection of beautifully composed works which leave me in awe of this great English talent, it's got everything from boot stomping to reflective grief which must put Rev Hammer high in the list for the most influentual artist in contemporary English folk.
This CD is a masterpiece.
