I have brittle, frizzy, processed, blonde hair that I blow dry and flat iron daily. So, yeah, I need shampoo with some serious moisturizing! This shampoo does the trick! My hair stays smooth and shiny (and frizz-free) when I use this product.

I was a classic too-manly-for-hair-care male until I recently resolved (out of either vanity or self-respect, or maybe both) to start attending more carefully to my health/appearance/grooming. Hair is, of course, at the front line of that battle, so I interrogated some professional hair people and did some Internet browsing and learned that hair care is only partly a matter of what products you use. Healthy hair is also the result of things like drinking water and eating right and avoiding excessive sun or heat. Hair is, in fact, the most reliable indicator of whether a person is healthy. (See the Wikipedia page on "hair care," for starters.) And I learned that when it comes to hair products, I should look for ones that say "hydrating." (This as opposed to "moisturizing," which merely gives the appearance of hydration.) That's because hydrated hair is pretty much what healthy hair *is.*

I then spent a decent (if not ridiculous) amount of time browsing Amazon's hydrating hair products and reading the reviews, and then I experimented with 5 different, relatively inexpensive products.

The bottom line is that none of the 5 products are magical but I have noticed a mild to moderate improvement in shine, darkness, and thickness. (If you have recommendations for a near-magical product, I'm counting on you to let me know.) Given what I've seen from the different products, I will probably settle into a routine of using a small amount of the Frieda shampoo and conditioner daily, and then using an overnight treatment maybe once a month (but probably not the L'Oreal one).

That doesn't mean I recommend (or don't) any of these products for you.

This shampoo and conditioner is awesome. I have fine, wavy hair that is really unmanageable in the humid summer months - frizzy, dry, dull, etc. I've tried many different products but have never found something that works for me. After just one day of using this product (and the Straight Fixation cream after shampooing and conditioning) I've noticed a huge improvement. My hair is almost completely frizz-free and looks smooth, shiny and healthy, even in the humidity. I recommend giving this a try if you have shared my frustrations with wild, frizzy hair!

I always had frizzy hair in the humid summer months, so I switched to this shampoo to see if it would help tame the frizz and I got beautiful curly hair (not flawless of course, but did well). Thought I found a miracle product till I broke out in a terrible allergic reaction to something in the product. I have used many other products out on the market and many other frizzease products in the past and never had such a major issue as this. Luckily, allergic reactions do go away over a short amount of time, but are highly obnoxious and sometimes painful before then. I have no other allergies that I know of other than this product, so user beware!

I guess it cleans well enough, but it leaves an obvious waxy feel (as did the conditioner)...I guess that is their approach to curl-taming (think pomades). However, this did not cluster my mostly separated/frizzed out curls at all. My hair has tiny spirals and s-shaped curls (natural state). It grows out feeling moisturized and soft but Very easily dries out with each wash and gets a crunchy feel. Using gels that define but flake and itch after a day causes me to wash almost daily since rinsing usually doesn't feel clean enough to me. I don't usually "co-wash" since that's not washing/cleaning. I wanted this product to be a bandaid until I found a nice non-gel product that would let me shampoo less often. This shampoo, and even the conditioner (except for the deep conditioner), did no more to moisturize my hair than other more affordable brands (Aubrey is great by the way but more $. And Giovanni's Deep Conditioner but Not the leave-in). And as I said, it didn't help to define my curls. Everyone's hair is different to some degree and some people clearly got the results they wanted...but I don't recommend this product. Their deep conditioner was nice but the major detangling effect (!) and moisture (!) nearly disappeared upon the rinse-out. I figured I'd mention that here in case you were considering buying the combo pack.

For comparison, Paul M.'s The Detangler offers more lasting moisture than the F.E. deep conditioner. Oh and if you find scent important, all 3 items had a nice..maybe flowery...scent. But it did not seem to linger after the final rinse.

Not the greatest shampoo that I've used for my natural curls. Doesn't seem to make much of a difference. After about 2 weeks of using, it left my hair extremely dry. Overpriced, but smells delicious.

Love it! Very moisturizing. If you have oily scalp though I recommend you to alternate it with Root Awakening for Oily Scalp.
