I am at a loss for words. Dr. Lake's sermons contain some of the most inspiring testimonies I've ever heard, esp on divine healing. What's more is that it is clear that Dr. Lake had a teaching gift as well. My heart really has been seaching for someone in modern times whose life I can look to in order to become more like Jesus. Dr. Lake fulfills that. Many people I greatly respect have been encouraged by this book. It deals primarily with healing, but touches on science, apologetics, faith, love, purity, music, demonic powers, and especially God's anointing.

I loaned this book to an unsaved academic couple one time (German, into Anthroposophy and such) and one of them returned it later saying "I don't know what it was about that book, but I had the most incredible dreams after reading it." There are many stories in the book that will abosolutely inspire you to greater heights in God, and to dream impossible dreams in Him!

If you are interested in being a world changer for Jesus, buy this book and read it. Look beyond the man, and see the awesome things God wants to do with YOUR life in Him.

This book is the most useful book on John G. Lake on the market. However, it is NOT the Complete Collection of Lake's Teachings. There are many, many sermons, prophecies, etc. that are not included in this volume. It is very valuable to the Lake researcher, primarily because it does have so much under one cover. As General Overseer of Lake's organization, The International Apostolic Council, we are the official authorities on Lake's life and ministry. Liardon, while very knowledgable, has deliberately ommitted many references and materials that might have made some of the religious "powers-that-be" angry. ....

John Lake's teaching will hit you between the eyes. It will also seriously challenge our modern day church thinking, particularly on the topic of healing. If one should be judged by their fruit then it would be hard to argue against Lake's teaching. Testimony after testimony of God's power through Lake's ministry has caused faith to rise in me. Don't think that this book is outdated because it was written in the early 1900s. His teaching is some of the most profound I have heard. Lake makes the joy and victory of true christian living completely accessible. We truly can do ANYTHING through Christ - read it!

The Sermons and Life of John G. Lake represent the extra-natural working of God, the Holy Spirit changing individual men and women into complete persons. The testimonies shared are incredible evidences of the supernatural- restorative intervention of God in and for all of those willing to surrender their lives to Him. Nothing is too difficult for God, and miracles are available to believers today. Dr. Lake accurately reports the actions of God are always directed toward order, not disorder. He states, "Thy will be done on earth as in heaven....", noting God's real and present concern for restoration and wholeness here and now on earth as in heaven. Examples of healing, restoration, and real communication to and from the person we call "God" document this principle. The sermons of Dr. Lake are clear and concise expositions related to literally 1000's of observed supernatural events, harmoniously presented for easy reading and transposed comprehension. One cannot remain the same after reading these extraordinary historical events centered upon the work of the Holy Spirit at the turn of the 20th century.

Reading about John G. Lake is one thing, but reading from his personal diary is another thing altogether! Reading how he thought, the sacrifices he made, the miracles that occured all because he said YES to the Lord. It is truly inspiring and powerful and with almost 1000 pages of action packed miracles you will not go away the same person! Your faith level rises as you read it ~ again and again! Roberts Liardon's historical books on people of faith are a must if you want your faith to grow. I also recommend his books on God's Generals. Read and Grow and be equipped for your faith journey with God!

This is one of the greatest faith filled books ever compiled. It has just over 80 of John G. Lakes sermons. There is a brief biography, testimonies and some of his radio lectures. I have read it through a few times and it is truly amazing how this man thought. It will open the readers mind up to think differently about God then they probably have every dreamed of. If you are interested in the subject of healing then this is a great place to begin studying. If you want to know what the power of the Holy Spirit is for then this is a great place to find out the answer. This wonderful book really gives the reader an understanding of what faith is all about. There is none better.

What an awsome addition this work has made to my personal library. Although it makes a marvelous reference for topical Bible study, I found it equally as rewarding reading it straight through. My one complaint is that it didn't have nearly enough biographical material for my taste (only 15 out of nearly 1000 pages). Otherwise, this compilation is priceless.

Liardon recieved the support and assistance of many members of the Lake family. Lake's Grandson, John G. Lake III wrote the forward to this book.

The quality of this man's work will inspire and convict. Well worth the reading.

This is an amazing book with amazing sermons and testimonies.Oh, that the church could live like john lake did and walk in the annointing and power that he had.He was so consecrated and devoted to god.This book is an inspiration for all christians of what god can do in one yielded sold out life.John lake would pray for hours and days on end for the sick.He would not quit until the sick we're healed and delivered.Today, it's one quick prayer and ," oh well". Worth reading I cannot find such faith on the earth as i have reading this book.Today's preachers are mostly well to do with fancy cars and houses. John lake had much wealth for his day and was a successful business man and entrepreneur and yet gave it up to follow christ and be his disciple.Try that

We were given this book by a friend who had bought it for himself after reading Lake's biography (and wanted us to have it before he could finish his)--and we are ever so thankful! Now we are ordering several more to share because we cannot bear to loan ours. Each chapter makes us eager to find time to read the next one, and we are really glad there are almost a thousand pages! Obviously John G. Lake was a man totally sold out to God, and God in turn bestowed an utterly amazing anointing upon his life and ministry. That anointing communicates vividly to our own hearts and inspires us to not settle for the status quo we see all around us, but rather to enter into the same glorious realities which are equally available to each of us. Lake's way of saying things and his uncompromising approach to truth is refreshing to our thirsty souls. I've already responded personally with a now-certain faith that it is always God's will to heal--the questions and doubts are gone--and am enjoying relief from a chronic hip problem.
