Finally nice to see a Steppenwolf DVD -- albeit not the original Wolf. DVD is great quality picture and sound -- not all of the old Steppenwolf hits but a great representation. John Kay still sounds awesome. DVD has some extra nuggets including interviews with each band member backstage -- but the lead guitarist interviewed in the extras section is not the guitarist playing live -- not certain what the story is there. All in all tho -- I great DVD for Rock n Roll DVD collectors -- especially the 2004 rendition of 'Monster'.

Wow.....John Kay is a class act. He's mellowed with time but hasn't lost a step as a rock and roller. I loved the interviews with John and his band mates....they have allot of respect for him, and as one of them mentioned, it's not the John Kay show with a back up band.....they are a true band and they're all make up Steppenwolf. I enjoyed all the extras (watch that Last Wolf Fest sampler......wow, this is a band who loves and respects their fans as much as their listeners love them......very cool). Most aging rockers embarrass themselves 30 years later.......Kay and company deliver the goods here, and the Steppenwolf songs have surprisingly stood the test of time well. Kay has no ego and is a gentle, thinking man.....a great package of music, and the extras help us really understand these guys. A really terrific package.

John Kay hasn't lost a step.....

However - the package is misleading. There is no DD-5.1 - It is a Dolby 2.0 stereo soundtrack only - though an acceptable Dolby -2.0 soundtrack at that. But not what the packaging describes it as. Also, the video is not all that good either. It looks better on my 36" Toshiba than on my 65" HDTV - but not a good video transfer. A good compilation of Wolf tracks but I am sorry I purchased it because of the audio/video quality....

Just received this DVD and overall, I'm real impressed with the concert. I'm a 'Wolf fan from the 60s, and while this incarnation isn't the original lineup, the band is very tight and they stay true to the original arrangements. The only puzzling thing is that the bass player isn't on-stage anywhere, and I hope that they didn't use pre-recorded tape for the bass parts.

Snowblind Friend, Monster, and The Pusher are still my favorite 'Wolf tunes and they do them justice in a big way in this concert.

A real goodie for those who crave some Howling! John Kay is the leader of this pack, and in my opinion a powerful performer. Naturally Monster,

Magic Carpet Ride and Born to be Wild are expected to be rockin and they are, but the added perk is that the other selections are equally delicious. I may be charmed by this Wolf in hunks clothing, but it makes for a nice visual along with sounds that take you back to the days when carpet rides were truly carefree.

Sad that this year is the bands farewell tour.

I just don't see how John Kay does it. He has as much enthusiasm today as a 60 plus year old man as any 20 year old artist I have ever seen out on the concert circuit, with the possible exception of Dave Mason. Steppenwolf is not just out there resting on past glory either, they play their collective butts off. So if you get a chance to go and see them Live, do yourself a huge favor and go watch them.

I am very impressed with the sound quality of this DVD and I watch this concert at least once a week. So, buy it, watch it, enjoy it.

Long Live Rock and Roll!!!

And as Dave Mason so perfectly stated, Rock and Roll is an Attitude not an Age!

It was like a blast from the past. The video was excelent, the audio was well done also. I enjoyed it.

Sitting here listening to Snowblind Friend...so nice. This is a fabulous DVD. Sound is pretty great, too. John still has the pipes and sound. Another group that will never replaced.

He still can belt it out and his band is very good. Brings back lots of memories. Worth buying if you like Steppenwolf.....

This DVD is very good...it's always great to see John Kay play these classics.The young talent in the band is impressive also. I like it.
