While the production quality of this film is somewhat uneven and definitely "homemade", the multitude of clips of President Kennedy's speeches and words are well laid out in a "retrospective" yet persistently current point-of-view. This film was produced in the mid-1980's, but I found it to be every bit as relevant in 2008, as it was in 1963 and the 1980s. Too much, no, most of the media today focuses only on one or two 5-second sound bites of JFK's Inaugural Address, and leaves it at that. For those who have grown up thinking that President Kennedy only said "Ask Not . . . " this film will be a revelation. For high school and college students who are learning about JFK's Presidency for the first time, this is a must, a "new" perspective that has been lost in our headlong rush to synthesize and summarize everything in history into short, little phrases and film clips. (Time Magazine did a similar, in-depth retrospective in July 2007, "The 6th Annual Making of America issue", and brought up many of the points revealed in this DVD, namely JFK's unending quest for real peace in a dangerous world.) I recommend this video, especially in this war-torn election year, when many of the same issues are still at stake. We can still learn much from John F. Kennedy's visionary commitment to world peace through diplomacy and world law. (Trivia Note: The handsome photograph on the front of the DVD box was taken on the last night of his life, at a speech in Texas, Nov. 21, 1963.)

A sobering look at what was missed with Kennedy's assassination. This film reminded me of all that JFk was pursuing in world affairs,plus what might have transpired if they had come to pass. Worth seeing.
