I hope this video remains available to everyone for eternity. The songs are a sheer delight.(many composed by Lithgow himself)The children in the video are GENUINELY responding with laughter and having a wonderful time. (How I wish all videos would offer this rather than kids who look bored or pained to be having fun) John Lithgow brings such a variety of facial expressions to the piece and has a special way of conveying the stories through his music. Some of the songs have colorful graphics or cut away to parents interacting with their children in among the shots of Lithgow singing with the children in front of a cottage garden. Each interpretation is unique and very engaging. Babysongs videos do not come with fifteen minutes of advertising at the start or the finish. That in itself is a real plus. I came back to order several more copies of this video to share with friends and I am VERY disappointed to see that it is currently unavailable.

This is one of the best musical videos ever created for children. How can it be unavailable? My 18 year old enjoyed watching it when my 10 year old was a baby. Now I want to purchase it for my developmentally challenged 15 year old and I can't find it. This is a great video for parents who hate to have to watch kids videos. The entire family will enjoy it.

Our 5 y/o daughter wore this tape OUT and our 2 y/o son is now watching it while it crackles and pops in 2 areas...it is his FAVORITE video and he wakes up in the morning shouting, "GUITAR! GUITAR!" and won't rest until he gets to watch it while he has his breakfast. I have searched high and low and can't find it in any stores or online. This is a must-see for all toddlers and preschoolers alike. John Lithgow is a "rare gem" and his talent in entertaining children only makes him more treasured by everyone who has seen his fine film-acting abilities. I'm writing a letter to the production company TONIGHT in hopes that I can obtain a fresh copy of the best children's video this family has ever seen. I hope that anyone reading this will do the same!

I really wish I could find this on DVD. I have it on VHS, but would love to replace it, as I would be heart broken should the tape break.

I bought it for my baby and he loved it, my baby is now 26, and we still belt out the songs every now and then!

I'm saving it for grandchildren, should my son decide to marry a decent girl, and give me the grandchildren I yearn for...but that's another can of worms.

I check this out from the library ever so often. John Lithgow is great and the kids love him. He sings with them and too them and is funny all at the same time. It is a very nice change from the standard nursery rhymes. I only wish I could find it to own.

My copy of this video just wore out after passing through the toddler years of 4 nieces and nephews and then my own three boys (now 7, 6, and 4). My 4-year old was broken hearted to lose his favorite tape...and I am glad to find it here. Even I enjoy listening to it, and don't find it irritating to hear over, and over, and over - the way 4-year olds like it. We sang "Big Kids Scare The Heck Out Of Me" on the way to first grade for my oldest... and "Cause My Mommy Loves Me So" is favorite when someone is feeling down... John is funny and the music is great...especially if you like guitars.

I was in this video as a child. The children in the video are kids from my preschool at UCLA. We had fun making this viedo. John Lithgow is the funniest person alive and he know how to get kids singing. Some of the songs that he taught us still get suck in my head today. I was 4 then and I am 13 now. It was a pleasure to work with him and thw video turned out great. END
