For those of us that know how frusterating and pointless some sports video games can be, there has always been one standard that rises above and keeps us hooked. Madden Football is that game. Sure there have been others in the past. However Madden 93 made history by making a promise that any game played on the p.c. CAN and will play better and look just as good on our t.v. That seems like an old and tired achievement today but for the cartridge era that was practically a miracle. Sure Madden football games have ALWAYS been high scoring. (The average against the computer and other human players can be something like 80-100 scoring range for 15 minute quarters.) The one thing that Madden 93 brought us that is still true today is that if you need something to keep the football fever alive during or after the football season. This is the ticket. The games may look better and play easier now. But if you are like me and like to honor the roots of the tech, then this is a good start.
