John McCusker's solo debut album is a cd very worth buying. Those familiar with the battlefield band will be well aware of his lovely compositions and his absolute genius with a fiddle in his hands. (He also does tin whistle, piano, and whatever else he chooses to pick up, it seems...) This cd is filled from beginning to end with beautiful airs and foot-stomping tunes that any lover of scottish traditional music or the fiddle will be sure to enjoy. From the very first set you can't help but be sucked in by John McCusker's personal, emotional playing style. You will enjoy this album!
