Childhoods of Famous... SCOTS (???),

I loved this series as a child and have enjoyed introducing the books to my children and students. While certain favorites from my past (Virginia Dare, Jane Adams) are now difficult to find, it has been interesting to see the series expand as new figures take the place of discontinued titles. As a nature lover and a fan of Yosemite (we were married there!), I'm happy to see an accessible "biography" of Muir for children.... BUT.... how can a Scotsman be included in a series about famous Americans??? Perhaps this is the reason for the inflated price on this particular title?
