It's a good set, well worth the money. The construction quality is great. It would be nice to have atleast plastic bowls in the set but you get decent bags. The stones are all identical in shape and no cracks.

This product was adequate but overpriced. Because these games are so difficult to obtain the price is what it is, we have to pay whatever it costs to obtain them. The materials and craftship was simple with the price too high. For any serious lover of the game I would recommend this size board. The 12 inch variations just are not adequate. 15-16 inch folding boards are adequate for mobility use, but larger is better. For the price paid, bowls for the game pieces should be included.

This is definitely a very nice Go set for the price. Plus the stones it comes with are glass and very nice as well. Though the picture is a little deceiving, this set does NOT include the bowls as well, but these can also be purchased separately through Amazon (I found some very nice bowls for mine in the "recommended" section on the same page)
The board overall is of pretty nice quality. It's hollow on the inside and comes with two little pull-tie bags to store the pieces in if you don't have the bowls. When my board arrived, one of the feet had broken off during shipping, but this was easily remidied with some wood glue.

I would definitely recommend it considering the price of the whole package and the overal quality of thet products included!

the description of the item said "Set Includes white and black heavy glass stones". but they are actually plastic!!! very disappointed!! $62.00 for plastic pieces is a rip off!!

All in all a nice product. I thought the stones were supposed to be glass, but were plastic(they are nice though, and come in nice bags). Maybe I'm mistaken about the stones, not sure. Good construction on the chest. Comes with a nice little set of basic instructions.

The set arrived damaged; though outer and inner boxed looked O.K., one of the legs was broken off. Fixed it with a little wood glue and won't be bothering with a return.

I would definitely recommend this set to any one looking for a good full-sized go set and would purchase it again.

Big Plus: can be used as floor or table board!

I was disappointed with this set. The board is made of cheap laminate and is very lightly built. The stones are of low quality and look and feel totally different from my 30 year old set of stones, making the difference painfully obvious. The board is so slick that even the slightest bump or careless play will cause the stones to shift drastically.

I cannot recommend this product for anyone wishing to own an adequate Go set. This set is overpriced for what it is. More importantly, it's quality makes the game harder to play and therefore less enjoyable. Suggest you look elsewhere.

I got this go set for a birthday present a few months ago. I am still learning the game (and trying to catch up to some friends who are still better than me). I also got some bowls for my birthday, which are beautiful.

The board came in with a small defect in one of the lines, so I went over it with a thin marker which wasn't a huge deal. Other than that, the board is nice. The storage space under the board is nice, but the bowl set I have doesn't quite fit underneath properly... I still put it in there and put the whole set back in the box to tote it around one friend's house to another. I'm actually thinking about getting one of my friends a good go board (they only have one of the tiny 12" ones) so that I don't have to tote this thing around. I'm afraid I'm going to damage it with so much travel wear and tear.

The go stones don't seem to be glass, but I don't know how to tell if they are really glass or not...but they feel great in the hand (much better than the tiny stones that come with 12" size boards).
