4.0 out of 5 stars South Jamaica QUEENS
This album is pretty solid in terms of production and cheeks' rhyming skills. I have all the Lost Boyz albums and this solo effort from cheeks incorporates some stuff I've come to expect from the LB fam and some new stuff. You'll hear plenty of terms that are vintage cheeks (black bandana, yankee fitted, basically, official). Personally I think the loss of freaky tah...

Mr. Cheeks has some good rhyming ability but overall i would say this solo album is just average. A few of the songs are good, but nowadays people will just download what they like and delete the rest. I recommend you all try before you buy this one.

Personally I think the loss of freaky tah hurts cheeks a lot because his "Ha, Queens!" interjections really complement cheeks' flow. I was kind of disappointed by "Til We Meet Again," cheeks' dedication to the late freaky tah. The track is a real good one musically, but in terms of letting us into the relationship between the two, it leaves a bit to be desired. This is a good album to throw on when you're relaxing, but it lacks the raw energy of Illegal Drug Money. It's definitely enough to keep LB fam fans happy, but something about it leaves me thinking it could have been a bit better.

As far as lyrics are concernded no one can compare to Mr. Cheeks this CD is very good chillin music. It is excelent hip hop straight from the underground. I would put this cd on the same level as Defari's release Focused Daily which was a superb underground release. if you like Defari or and of the artist of of the hip hop 101 compilation cop this album.

This cd is full of hot songs from the start to the finish. A added bonus is that you can listen to it just when you feel like chilling and when you want to dance. Great Stuff

I'm more of an R&B playa BUT Mr.Cheeks got me all hooked up. It overflows with phat jams and fluid beatz. "Friday Night featuring Horace Brown" is off the hinges. Nuff' Said!

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Groove Lover, October 16, 2001

I was channel surfing and flipped to BET late one evening and the "Lights Camera Action" video was on. Once I heard the groove in this track I was done. I have not heard a groove that tight in years. I often find that there is typically only one or two tracks on a rapper's CD/Album that I like. So to see if this was true for this one... This has to be the best Hip Hop CD I have ever heard. Bought it as soon as it was released. This has to top the charts.

5.0 out of 5 stars JPK is my granddaddie!, October 30, 2001

I love the new album by Cheeks. It brings all kinds of flava to the average listener, you can just sit and relax to it and even get up and dance to it. To see our grandfathers name up on your site is a wonderful thing. Our family is proud and we are proud of Cheeks and thank him for making daddies name shine.

Do go out and cop this you wont regret it!

O.K. let me stop laughing. Alright this c.d. is booty. He looks like a fool in that low budget video. His whole vibe is just wack. ... I am also tried of seeing fallen rappers try and make a come back. ... He gets an big thumbs down and so does his weave looking dreads. I will by MC Hammer's new c.d. before I would buy this c.d.

4.0 out of 5 stars LoL...Could This Suck Any Worse..., June 3, 2004

the answer to that is "yes, of course". Give it a second listen and you'll be throwin it out the window before track 5. This guy is so old that even his dreds show signs of aging, and that Lights Camera Action video looks like it was shot by a ninth grader for a school project. This guy is an embarassment to hip hop, and I'm glad his s**t never gets any play, cuz no one needs to have him come on the radio with out fair warning first...
