John Paul II's Book of Mary,
By A Customer
This review is from: John Paul II's Book of Mary (Hardcover)
I find this book to be very inspirational and insightful to John Paul II's, one of the holiest men alive, knowledge and understanding of our Blessed Mother in the Catholic Church today. The author has taken 17 different titles of Mary and taken many different speaches, writings, etc and put them together to show JPII's desire for us to know who Mary is and what she does for us. I really took a great deal from this book as I not only use it as a prayer meditational, but also as a refernce helping me to grow in my devotion to Mary.

The Holy Father had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother and this book is a beautiful tribute to that devotion. I hope you enjoy the read as much as I did.

The book is basically a book of little talks the Pope had given at different gatherings around the world impressing the importance of our most Blessed Mother. You will walk away from your readings knowing how important she is to in the salvation of mankind and deceit of satan.

short of expectations,

A good book written by a great man. Yet, I expected much more from a man who had risen to the papacy. One might want to consider the other side of the `John Paul Coin' - Albino Luciani or John Paul I - the valiant champion of human dignity for women, orphans, the remarried, homosexuals and others whose everyday lives are scorned by doctrine. Unlike his successor who was taught from an early age not to question the authority of his ancestors, Albino received his commission to rise to the papacy and bring change to the Church at the age of twelve from his revolutionary activist papa. Two good men - yet, two very different men - two very different sides of the same coin, John Paul II the conservative side and John Paul I the liberal side. I would suggest a look-see at Lucien Gregoire's PAUPER WHO WOULD BE POPE.
