I have an 1970 model Martin D-28 that tends to be fairly subdued in tone. This bright and detailed string set brings out tone i didn't know it was capable of producing, and I've been playing it for 32 years. Best strings ever for my instrument, not even close, and that includes Elixers, all the usual-suspect popular models, over the years.

These are nice strings. I play chords mainly and these strings have a full harmonic range. The chords 9th's and 7th's come across loud and clear. They settle down quickly after a restring. I get about seven weeks out of them before they dulled off. Price is on the high side but they are a pleasure to play, which encourages me to play more.

I've been playing fingerstyle for more than 30 years. I've tried every brand of string on the market, but I keep coming back to John Pearse. There is no better "high" one can get for eight dollars than mounting a fresh set of these.

Good price. I play finger style, up and down the neck, lead, slide, lots of styles.

Great strings for the money. They last 5 - 6 months, for me. Stay in tune on my McPherson and 1972 Guild.

Ever wonder why your guitar never has the sweet woody sounds like the old recordings of Simon and Garfunkel, Jim Croce, James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, Harry Chapin, Gordon Lightfoot, Arlo Guthrie, or the Grateful Dead? It's because NONE of those artists used phosphor bronze strings for their recordings (and definitely no coated strings either)!

No they used 80/20's to get their amazing sounds, and John Pearse makes the best 80/20 strings in the world!

Bright and sparkling when first put on your guitar, and then within a week they mellow to warm and clear perfection. And then that sound lasts and last.

Try these strings. Give them 2 weeks and you'll be hooked on them for a lifetime!

This is my string of choice for finger style playing on my Martin OM28V. Bright, crisp, accurate, but with a strong bottom end. Holds tuning and lasts for a respectably long time.
