This is an interesting and exciting book if you like the 1960's Avengers TV series and especially John Steed. It tells the life story and background of his life and gives you insight as to how and why he is how he is when we meet him in THE AVENGERS. This book ends just when he meets Mrs. Gale(Honour Blackman). There is no v. 2-----yet. We can always hope that the wonderful authour Tim Heald will write a 2nd volume. The Avengers humour is indeed in this book along with Steed's life. You might also wish to read Patrick Macnee's autobiography: BLIND IN ONE EAR, which is wonderful.
