Some of John's Best Solo Work, August 20, 2007
This review is from: John Taylor (Audio CD)
It's really too bad that this is such a rarity, because it is some of John Taylor's best solo work. Duran Duran had faded, John went through rehab, cleaned himself up and put his talents to work. I really enjoy this CD. Air Miles is among my favorites, Coventry Carole is kitchy, Good Reason to **** Me is a bit over the top, but why not?
Sure, others may not like it because it doesn't sound like typical Duran Duran, but I think that's the point. On this album, John does not highlight his vocals -- a good thing -- but shows his chops as an inspiring composer and producer. Great mixing, good stuff.
Five stars from me. If you want a copy, try going through John's website, www.trusttheprocess.com, or e-bay. But you will pay THROUGH THE NOSE for a copy from e-bay.

Fasntastic Solo Work, October 6, 2010
This review is from: John Taylor (Audio CD)
Rare tracks and so worth finding. This is some of John Taylor's best solo work. Spirit of Times - great production. The Panhandler is excellent as well. Not mainstream type music so an average listener might not appreciate it. But people who appreciate Duran Duran as musicians and know truly what a great band they are should definitely take a listen to John Taylor's solo work. Great songwriter, producer and musician.
