I learned on these books waaaay back in the early 1960s. They're still a great approach to learning. And now that I teach, I use the whole series - in addition to outside pieces as part of the transition away from them - to expose students to the wealth of music Classical composers gave us, many of which have no contemporary equivalents.

The Schaum piano course is wonderful! I am just thrilled that I can still access that particular course for my students of today, since it is the very course that I started with in the 1950's! The D Book has some very fun and challenging pieces, as well as education that befits that particular progression in study.

I have been continuing my piano learning as an adult after beginning lessons as a child. The Schaum books are an excellent course. They were good when I was young, and now I am using them to teach my children and myself. Schaum uses many arrangements of music by many composers as well as his own compositions. They stand the test of time. The books have been around for at least 50 years and are still relavent.

I recently got a piano, and since I haven't played in 30 years, decided to start over with these books I used as a kid. They are just as good as I remember!

I learned to play the piano with these books and really enjoyed it. I still play these pieces beautifully harmonized with good information about each piece and progressive instructions in music, music history and information about composers. The new editions bring it up to date really well.
