It's a great book for all the facts on Johnny Appleseed, but pretty boring for those under 5 yrs old. Lots of text on each page which didn't really hold my 4 yr old's attention.

This is a great version of the Johnny Appleseed story - most appropriate for 1st and 2nd grade teachers. The illustrations are vibrant and interesting, and the story shows Johnny through the course of his life; it also does a good job at explaining a tall tale. This book paired with the one by Steven Kellogg would be a great teaching set.

This book was just what I was looking for. I wanted to start teaching my grandchildren about our countries history and folk lore. Since the children are just learning to read, it was important that the book was easy to understand, which it was. The kids also enjoyed the pictures, which helped to explain the story. Thank you so much.
