As a teacher I thought that this book was great. I was looking for a book on Johnny Appleseed to use with my class. The book does a great job explaining the American folk hero. It also adds some factual information about John Chapman. The authors choice of descriptive words and the illustraters bright pictures are sure to keep your readers attention. The book also serves as a good lead in for a cross curriculur study involving science and social studies. It would be great for early primary K - 3.
