5.0 out of 5 stars Long Live Johnny Lee!
When you hear of Johnny Lee you automatically have visions of
Gilley's and "Urban Cowboy".At one time he was the hottest
artist in the great state of Texas.Even today on the Houston

3.0 out of 5 stars An Outdated Compilation
The reason some of his later hits such as "The Yellow Rose", "You Could've Heard A Heart Break", etc. are not on this CD and are so hard to find are because this is an outdated Warner Bros. compilation from an LP released a couple of years before those hits were released. When you hear of Johnny Lee you automatically have visions of

golden oldie country and western music station you hear a very
steady flow of Johnny Lee songs. This CD has some of his best and
most notable songs. You will hear "Lookin For Love","Cherokee
Fiddle","Bet Your Heart On Me",and "Could Have Heard a Heart
Break".I was confused as to why the song "Yellow Rose of Texas"
was left off of this CD.This was the theme song for a television
show also titled "Yellow Rose of Texas".Buy this CD and listen to
it. You will be treated to some outstanding music.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent summation of Johnny's career, December 12, 1998

This collection of Johnny's greatest hits contains almost all of the top 10 hits with a few top 10 hits missing. This is the place to look for "Lookin' For Love," and "Cherokee Fiddle," if you don't want to buy the Urban Cowboy Soundtrack or if you want to hear some of his other hits. This is essential Urban Cowboy era country music. Beware of Curb Records' cheaper compilation of Johnny's music as it contains mostly non-hits with only Lookin' For Love and Cherokee Fiddle being the hits, this is the disc to buy instead as it is affordable and as I said earlier, contains most of his top 10 hits.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent collection, but where's the rest of his hits??, January 1, 2003
This review is from: Johnny Lee - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
I am a big fan of Johnny Lee!! This is obviously the best and only Greatest Hits collection that features most of his hits. The only problem is that rest of his hits he had after this album was released are absolutely nowhere to be found! Those songs include You Could've Heard A Heart Break(#1), Rollin' Lonely(#9), and Save The Last Chance(#12). I've seen his duet with Lane Brody, The Yellow Rose, on CD before but now that song is hard to get. But as far as I know, the other three have never been on CD. To me, that's ridiculous because they all charted well and are just as good as the songs on this Greatest Hits. I know this album came along before those 3 hits, but you would think that by now, they would have come out with another hits collection from him containing ALL of the hits that he had throughout his career. It seems that for every artist who had a decent amount of hits or more, there's always a few songs out of the whole bunch that are impossible to get. I've been trying to figure out why for years. But for now, this is the best possible Greatest Hits collection from Johnny Lee you can get.

The reason some of his later hits such as "The Yellow Rose", "You Could've Heard A Heart Break", etc. are not on this CD and are so hard to find are because this is an outdated Warner Bros. compilation from an LP released a couple of years before those hits were released. And again, its Warner Bros., a studio who would rather do something stupid like waste their resources releasing back titles on the doomed DVD-audio instead of stuff we might buy. Its not hard to find Warner titles needing a CD release...

Luckily, all of Johnny's missing hits can easily be found on a 2 CD "Greatest Hits and More" set sold on Johnny Lee's web site at this moment although I find the audio quality of this CD to be of higher quality then the 2 CD set.

At under $10 I would consider this a reasonable buy if you just need the intro into Johnny Lee's music though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Texas Country, August 13, 2008
This review is from: Johnny Lee - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Johnny Lee is one of my favorite singers, and whenever I think of him, I think of "Urban Cowboy". This CD has some good songs on it, such as "Lookin' for Love" and "Cherokee Fiddle". Johnny Lee is a true country singer.
