I ordered my copy from Amazon in early November, but the company manufacturing the dvds is so overrun with orders for it that the "mass release" date has been postponed until February 27th!! Depending on the type of shipping method chosen, it might not arrive until sometime in early March.
I have watched this special on both PBS stations (in segments, during pledge drives) and on HDNET (short version, uninterrupted). The dvd coming from Amazon will have more songs from the concert at which this was taped (October, 2006). IT IS FANTASTIC, LIKE BEING AT ONE OF THE CONCERTS, BUT THE CAMERA BRINGS YOU ONTO THE STAGE! YOU WILL BE VERY HAPPY WHEN YOU FINALLY GET IT AND WATCH, I CAN ASSURE YOU!!! I just hope that it works in your dvr! I think it is even better than the A&E Live in Concert that everyone already loves!!

I've listened to him through 5 decades and have never lost my enthusiasm for his voice and his songs. I never skip any of his songs on any of the CD's I have of his, and I have many. I can't say that for any other singer. I hope you enjoy this DVD as much as I do. Johnny Mathis is simply the best.

My wife and I have enjoyed his beautiful voice over the years and we love this 50th Anniversary DVD! The consummate singer of love songs triumphs once again! What else is there to say? If you're a fan you simply must have this DVD!

Johnny Mathis remains in a class all by himself. A true living legend, his voice is still as beautiful as when he began in 1957. This set includes his biggest hits and some Wonderful,Wonderful surprises. The tour of his home in LA.is exquisite. A must for any Mathis fan!

This Johnny Mathis DVD is so wonderful with alot of great songs & Mathis singing is so sweet & great that it makes you want to hear him all year around. I am a fan of his music . I can say my favorite song of his is Maria! It's my name can I say more........... Johnny sings it with love & power from the west side story great song. Your going to love his cd as well . It's all 5 stars in my eyes always...........

Wonderful! Wonderful! Great clips interspersed within concert . . . Pieces of Dreams, a Michel Legrand/the Bergmans song, from a Johnny Carson Show, is terrific.

I loved this DVD. To the commenter who said he is not what he used to be. Did you expect Johnny at 70 to sound the "exact" same as he did at 19, at 30 at 45 or 60? How ridicoulous of you to even write that. It's good to hear and see Johnny age so gracefully. He sounds pretty much the same and this DVD is well worth the money. His voice has held up. I know he spends a lot of time taking care of himself and his voice. Thank you MR. Mathis. A definite recommendation for JM lovers and music lovers. I'm glad he is still giving concerts at the age of 72.

If I was told I could keep only one DVD out of my entire collection, this would be the one. Well rounded collection of the best of Johnny Mathis with wonderful interviews and a tour of his beautiful home, which so well reflects his personality. If I was able to gather my favorite people in the world for a dinner party, Johnny would be sitting at the head of the table!

If you are a real fan of Johnny Mathis, you must have this. The voice is as beautiful as ever. The lighting is terrible for poor Mr. Mathis but not for your DVD player. I've seen him in person recently and he looks 15 years younger than on this DVD......However, for the singing and the beauty of his humble personality alone, buy it. Great for collectors as well as people who just love great music.

Johnny Mathis is truly one of the Greatest vocalists ever and this special highlights his Career as he covers so many classics. He is truly a Living Legend. everything was well Produced and played as well.
