This is a great movie! Johnny's parents are not very good "listeners," but his Grandfather is completely there for him. It's a Disney movie formula, but there's some truth to it...a kid doesn't really require a " village," but he does need one adult in the world that he is really connected with.

Johnny Tsunami also has a lot to say about surfing and skiing and what it's like to be the new kid in school.

HELLO people!!! It was VERMONT that he moved to NOT ALASKA!!!!! The movie was actually pretty decent for a Disney movie.

I felt so bad for hime went he had to leave paradise for the cold and snowy mountains of Vermont.

This was a great Disney movie...and true to Disney form, GREAT for the whole family.

Yuji Okumoto does an AWESOME job as the conflicted father who moves his family from Hawai'i to Vermont. (He certainly has come quite a ways from his days as playing a villan in Karate Kid II...Okumoto is rumored to be the upcoming epic Pearl Harbor).

All in all a GREAT FILM. 5 STARS!
