I have a large nest of yellow jackets, (you know, the kind that likes to crawl into your soda pop can or make your life miserable at the zoo).

We get the occasional wasp or hornet or yellow jacket nest and this is the best product I have found to use to kill them.

We just built a house in the woods, and couldn't sit long on our new deck or patio without being hassled by bees & wasps. I bought wasp spray and several traps, and maintained the traps as instructed from spring through fall. My results:

Rescue WHYTR-BB8 W-H-Y Trap For Wasps, Hornets and Yellow Jackets was hands-down the best, never failing to catch at least a dozen wasps, hornets and yellow jackets per week. The refills (Sterling Intl. WHYTA-DB12 Wasp, Hornet & Yellow Jacket Trap) contain 3 different lures and last 2-3 weeks (tip: refill once the liquid lure has evaporated). This trap worked best when hung on the trunk of a smaller tree, where it was head-high and mostly shaded, and at the edge of the woods. It was much less effective hanging from the deck railing. It caught several kinds of bugs that are identified as wasps on the package (mostly ones that look like big yellow jackets), but like all of the traps I tried, it caught none of the all-brown, long-winged, skinny things I think of as "wasps."

The yellow-jacket-only version of the W-H-Y trap, Rescue YJTR-SF4 Reuseable Yellowjacket Trap with Attractant, similarly caught at least a dozen each week, but there were several types (presumably wasps & hornets) that I would find in the W-H-Y trap and not in this one. Biggest advantage: the yellow jacket lure (

We have a mountain cabin and fight an ongoing battle with jellow jackets, wood borer bees, jap hornets, and red wasps. The raid wasp spray is the only one which kills instantly, literally knocking them out of the air. The other brands have air and foam which blows in the wind, and does not kill. The raid shoots a stream of liquid and kills instantly. Seems to have more in the can than the foamy ones.

3 of 4 people found the following review helpful By JJCEO #1 HALL OF FAMETOP 10 REVIEWER on July 27, 2012
We have a home with a high roof line and in some places it is over 20 feet high. We get the occasional wasp or hornet or yellow jacket nest and this is the best product I have found to use to kill them. The can itself will spray up to 22 feet and held above my head it is going up to 30 feet. This spray instantly knocks the wasps out of the air and they literally die almost instantly. It is the best insecticide I have found for this type of pest and it does the job perfectly.

Be sure to follow all the instructions listed on the can and shown below. My latest surprise was I lifted the lid to the hose reel last week an there was a large hornets nest inside the compartment where we keep our extra hose spray nozzles. The next time I raised the lid, the wasps got the surprise. Not one survived or was able to fly out of the nest. It was over that quick.

It is nice to kill these pests so quickly and from such a distance. They don't even have a chance to find you and sting you. This is a great product and I recommend it to you!

I read the positive reviews about this product and I've come to the conclusion that I must have SUPER BUGS! I have a large nest of yellow jackets, (you know, the kind that likes to crawl into your soda pop can or make your life miserable at the zoo). They built their nest under one of my eaves about 13' above the ground. I bought a can of this stuff and waited till dusk. First of all it fell far short of the 22' they claim. I was lucky to get 10'! I had to get a ladder to get within 10' of the nest and then I soaked it, just like the instructions said I should. This is the next day now and they're up there buzzing around like nothing happened, in fact I think they like the stuff! Was the formula changed since all these positive reviews were left? The ingredients on my can says: Prallethrin....0.02%, Cypermethrin....0.05%, other ingredients....99.93%, contains petroleum distillates. This tells me that a mere 0.07% (that's seven one hundredths of one percent!)of the entire contents of the can is supposed to do all the work and 99.93% is nothing but inert stuff that's used as nothing but a vehicle and something to fill the can with and that all! I'm no chemist, but I sure remember a lot more stuff in these types of sprays than that! I remember pyrethrins as being one of the major ingredients. Not anymore! Maybe somebody got sued by a cheap lawyer so they had to "safetyize" the stuff to the point that it doesn't work anymore! More and more products are becoming non-functional because of frivolous lawsuits.

The product is as expected. It works very well. Packaging for shipment was inadequate as it was shipped in a USMail envelop 12.5"x8.5". The product is 10.5"x2.5"round. It arrived with the package open on the bottom end exposing the pressurized container to potential damage. The product was not damaged but easily could have been in this pack.
