This book cotains the whole of Sameul Johnson's book Journey to the Western Islands of Scotland(1775) and most of James Boswell's Journal of a Tour to the Hebrides(1785). On the left hand pages in this book is what Dr. Johnson wrote, on the right hand pages of this book is what Mr. Boswell wrote of the same day. To be honest, I do not like this format. Both of these books are amoung the greatest works of litersture in English, and both writers are considered among the best England has ever produced. I recommend the reader purchase seperate editions of these works. There are numerous inexpensive paperback editions of both these works. There are also excellant hardbound editions(NOT cheap) published by Yale University Press. I DO recommend you read both these books-you will enjoy them both greatly.
