While another reviewer said this item wasn't a necessity, it certainly makes the job of hanging pictures, mirrors, etc. much easier. It has built in levels to ensure you get your item hung perfectly and there is no need to measure the space between the holes to hang stuff.

If I were to have one tiny complaint, it would be that I wish it was 36 inches long or that they had a longer one available. I have had a few items that were larger that I couldn't utilize this item. However, that didn't cause me to knock down the review on this one, as I knew the size when I bought it.

It's just a great buy for the price and the purpose it serves!

This ruler is the ultimate for those do-it-yourselfers. My wife is always hanging different pictures and such. I hang a lot of antique signs and so forth as well. This level/marker makes it easy and takes the guesswork out of where to mark the holes.

It is a very good quality. It doesn't have a cheap feel to it like other products I have purchased. I bought mine at Big Lots and liked it so much I bought an extra on Amazon. I highly recommend this product.

This tool is definitely not a necessity. However, it makes the jobs of hanging shelves, pictures, and the like even easier than they already are. It's a fairly sturdy, easy to use tool that does what it is supposed to do.

Good product with great price... nothing more to say.

What can I say but a great buy. This has made hanging picture at in laws house so much easy. It seems it's the only way I can get a free meal now a days. With this I can hang pictures with easy and enjoy a great dinner. Great buy.

This is one of the handiest tools i have. I use it to hang pictures...level...you simple mark the spot for the holes in the little "holes" on the slide. The cool thing is the measurement starts from zero in the middle and slides out from there. The little black sliders can be lined up with your hangers on the back of the frame and then lifted up to the spot you want it ... level and mark. It is lightweight and easy to use. I truly do depend on this tool on a regular basis.

product works well, instructions were poor, but does do the job well once you figure it out.

Simple to use, excellent design, and reeks of quality. A good value for professionals and housewives alike. And for professional carpenters who are housewives, too.

I can't believe I went all these years without this tool. It is perfect for hanging pictures, not really made for anything else thought.

But I bet you won't use it. I always end up using my little level that's already in my toolbag. Tend to forget I have this thing.

Update: I've changed my mind. After doing some towel bar re-intallation, a bunch of pictures, and a write-on board, I've found this tool MOST handy.

Would now give it a 5 star, but it seems the system won't let me do that.
