4.0 out of 5 stars Decent tool
The square could have used some kind of rollers on it to make it easier to slide along the drywalls edge. But it works quite well just the same. The 1/16 in. Graduated Slots make measuring easyand fast.

1.0 out of 5 stars This Tool is Junk
I wouldn't buy this tool again because it's impossible to cut drywall quickly using it. It doesn't slide alone the edge of the drywall very well. And the tool is only useful for making cuts up to 12 inches. Beyond 12 inches the tool doesn't work very well. Additional, I was expecting the tool to be much lighter. Wheels would have solved some of the problems with the tool...

Wheels would have solved some of the problems with the tool but the manufacturer forgot to provide them. Save yourself some time and trouble. Hire a license contractor if you have to and buy a real T-square!

The Rock Ripper T-Square makes cutting drywall a snap. It worked so well when ripping drywall sheets that I would never recommend hanging drywall without it. It slides on the long edge of the drywall sheet allowing you to score the sheet lengthwise to cut it. It helped me make very accurate cuts with some of them not even a couple of inches wide. To cut a narrow strip accurately, score both sides of the sheet using the same notch and snap the piece off. It snaps extremely cleanly and hardly needs any filing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth it's weight in gold!, January 31, 2002

I use this tool more than any other when I am hanging drywall. It allows you to quickly and exactly 'rip' drywall. Quicker and easier than a chalk line. I gave mine to my brother, who is adding a second floor, before I knew how hard it was to replace.

3.0 out of 5 stars straight horizontal-crooked vertical, December 26, 2004
This review is from: Johnson Level & Tool RTS241 RockRipper 24-Inch Drywall Scoring Square (Tools & Home Improvement)
This tool works fine on long rip cuts even though it is not square. It is the vertical cuts, my ripper is 1/8" off in it's 24" length. That adds up to mistakes. Hold tool firmly on edge of drywall or it will ride up on you. Alittle pricey for it's quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tool, March 18, 2011

Have used it a lot myself doin industrial sheet rock 3/4 inch down to 1/4 and it hits it good. I leave the sheets on sides notch my blade in the mark I need and go. No need to flip and scratch other side bend at cut and run blade along bend. It doesn't get any easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life saver and EASY to use. 4,586 thumbs up!, December 3, 2008
This review is from: Johnson Level & Tool RTS241 RockRipper 24-Inch Drywall Scoring Square (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought mine at the Orange Box (HD) several years ago and fine it to be very accurate and EASY to use.

You do have to hold the top T-square tight to get a square cut, and that is EXACTLY how a T-square works.

I will buy another one if mine ever breaks.

Used it on several Habitat builds. 4,586 thumbs up!

5.0 out of 5 stars great time saver, October 7, 2008

This thing works great.

It takes a few cuts to get the feel of it, but once you get the feel dialed in, it rocks. No more measuring and marking with a pencil or chalk line, just set the ripper on the drywall, slide it and cut it.

Another big advantage for us amateur dry wall hangers is that it eliminates the chance for errors in the measuring and marking process.

I can now cut a sheet in the time it takes me to walk from one end of it to the other end, no time wasted measuring and marking, and my cuts come out exact.
