easy to make reusable,
This review is from: SC Johnson Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair, 3 Count (Misc.)
These work GREAT. The single drawback is that they are marketed as disposable (SHAME ON YOU JOHNSON & JOHNSON!). Easy fix: standard crevice tool from your vacuum cleaner fits between the rollers - Viola! Reusable!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Surprisingly Effective Tool, January 17, 2010 I think that I have tried every option available for pet hair removal. My favorite has always been packing tape. I was very skeptical when I purchased one of these Pledge Pet Hair Sweepers and I became even more skeptical when I opened the box - it seemed rather flimsy. Once I tried it, however, I became a surprised believer. This little thing works very well! I first tried it on a coverlet that appeared fairly hair free. The Pet hair Sweeper found more cat hair and, sure enough, it appeared in the 'hair catcher'.Next, I used it on a cat blanket that was, of course, covered with a heavy layer of hair. Voila! The Pet Hair Sweeper worked once again! Now I want to buy more of these! I noticed a three pack through Amazon that might be a good purchase. This is a gadget that will not release the hair back into the house. When the top container becomes full you toss the 'sweeper' into the trash. No mess. No Fuss. All in all this is a far better product that I would have imagined it to be ! Comment

This is the best solution to pet hair on furniture that I have yet found. It is easy and effective to use. I have purchased one for each room that we sit in, including our screen porch. While I do not think it is supposed to be reused multiple times, I found it is fairly easy to pry off the top and clean out the pet hair and replace it to continue to use the product.
By the way, I have 5 cats(3 long-haired) and a golden retriever - so lots of pet hair in my house!

Best thing I have ever used!,
This review is from: SC Johnson Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair, 3 Count (Misc.)
I love love love this thing. Also, it is NOT necessary to throw it away. I think that's lazy and wasteful. The little roller pops right out, empty it in the trash, pop it right back in. Ready to go again. (One guy suggested using your vacuum nozzle to clean it. Also a good idea.)
I have two cats and two large dogs. The dogs are breeds that have no undercoat, only guard hairs. Man those little guard hairs get into everything! They bind themselves to the fibers of the couch and they are SO HARD to get out because of the way they thread themselves in. This gadget is the only thing that has ever worked to clean off my furniture. I used to have to take packing tape to my entire couch and even then it didn't get all the hair. The Pet Sweeper uses the same technology as a lint brush. It has two half rollers that each have the 'grain' of the brush facing opposite ways, so that when you scoot the Sweeper over the cushion it rubs the fur up, and then going back the other way rubs it against the other roller and knocks the hair into the little basin. So simple, yet so brilliant! I HIGHLY recommend this item.

Excellent Cat Hair Removal,

This product does an excellent job of removing cat hair from couches, chairs, rugs, etc.
The cost seems to be excessive, but I know of no alternative that works as well.

I love, love, love this product. With a four-year old Golden Retriever and a 15-year-old pound rescue who both love to sit on my sofas and shed like mad, I needed a product that was simple and easy to use. As long as you to swipe it from side to side (and there's a label on the product to remind you ;-)), pet hair comes off the upholstery like magic. Thank you, Pledge, for keeping me from pulling out the vacuum twice a day. And, thank you Amazon for continuing to sell it as I have not yet found it in local markets. (That reminds me, it would be helpful if you made the product available on a subscription basis. It's that good!)

Didn't work as well as expected and advertised .. we have two cats - one which gives off a lot of hair. Used in on our sofa - was very difficult to get all the hair up requiring a lot of work. We got these so we didn't have to lug out the vacuum cleaner to clean the sofa .. unfortunately, back to the vacuum cleaner we go as these are 5x the work going back and forth over the same spots to get all the hair up. Too good to be true unfortunately!

Works Well, but Pledge should MAKE it reusable!,

I would probably give this product five stars if not for the fact that it's apparently designed to be disposable. Mine fills up every time I sweep the cat hair from my window seat cushions, so I would be spending a fortune on these things if I actually threw them away when they were full, not to mention the fact that that's about as un-environmentally-sound as it gets. However, I've been using the same one for over two years now, after figuring out on Day One that if the manufacturers weren't going to build in a way to get the fur out, I would make my own. Two minutes with an X-Acto knife and I now had a handy little flap that would allow me to reach in and pull out all the accumulated cat hair and start again. I see from the reviews here that most people have figured out a similar workaround, but it's rather irksome that the product wouldn't be designed to be reusable in the first place.
It really does work fantastically well and is the best thing I've found for removing the cat hair that gets all over my couches and cushions. The trick is to rock the sweeper from side to side in short strokes, and the rollers will grab pet hair and pull it into the container. I get much better results than I ever used to with vacuum cleaner attachments, lint rollers and the like, and in a fraction of the time. It works best on upholstery, rather than stair treads, etc. For my stairs, I bought a Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Handheld Vacuum, Corded, 33A1 which seems to work much better for pulling the hair from the carpet pile, as well as being a great all-round mini-vac. It's not so good on upholstery though, which is where the Pledge Pet Hair Sweeper really shines. I'd definitely recommend that anyone with a hair-shedding pets gets ONE of these (there shouldn't really be any need for a three-pack unless you're giving two away to friends), and instantly makes the necessary 'hack' to turn a wasteful disposable product into something that will keep doing its job for years.

Best cat hair removal system I've tried,

I purchased this on a whim, and did as it said to do: short strokes back and forth. My Princess is an American Shorthair, but with surprisingly long hair that she shed surprisingly often. I have cat hair everywhere! In my black sofa, they are white. In my white chair, they are black. In my bed they are brown, and often end up in my mouth. It drives me nuts to find hair everywhere. I have tried different methods to get cat hair out: vacuums, lint rollers, pet hair removers, tape! This is the only one that have managed to take care of every single cat hair! I don't like that they are not reusable, as it should have been easy to make. But if I don't have to have cat hair all over me, these are well worth it.
Other reviews have suggestions to help out with this, I just haven't tried them.

Works great, smells terrible!,

I ordered the three pack because I have black cats and a LOT of pet fur. I did not realize they were disposable or scented like a "fresh rain shower". So the good news is the work like a charm - fast, easy, totally effective. The bad news is they are a ton of plastic and paper packaging, and could easily be reusable, but they aren't. Another review suggested using the detail hose attachment on the vacuum to get between the rollers and suck the cat hair right out. Brilliant. The other thing is they smell terrible. I grew up in Seattle were I smelled a lot of rain showers and none of them had that new-carpet-stink-that-is-surely-poisoning-your-unborn-children smell. If you have a love of Glad Plug-ins you might not mind, but to me the smell permeates the entire house and makes my eyes burn. I hope with continued reuse the smell will fade and these three units will last me for years to come. Maybe not the manufacturer's motto, but they should really consider their carbon footprint.
