Excellent,
This review is from: Johnson-Rose 5-Inch Cast Aluminum Hamburger Press (Kitchen)
This hamburger press is wonderful for the job it does. It's simple, light weight (less than a pound!) and easy to use. The hamburgers aren't uniform but they are much better than making them by hand!
It has two holes by the hinge where you could, potentially, bolt it down to a counter or other desired location. The only thing to watch out for is that, because it is aluminum, when you wash it, you have to immediately dry it to prevent any damage. Other than that this hamburger press is a great buy!

This burger press is still advertised as a 5 inch press. That is why I made the purchase.
It is at best 41/4 inches. Not happy. It also makes the patty very very thin.

Suprised Results,

When I first opened the package I wasn't very impressed. It didn't look like it would work very well, but the first time I used it I was pleasantly suprised. It made very nice even hamburger patties without any problems. Seems to be built fairly well - hope it will last a long time!

Works Well,
This review is from: Johnson-Rose 5-Inch Cast Aluminum Hamburger Press (Kitchen)
This works pretty well, the burgers don't stick to the press much at all. I also like the diameter, its about 5". The only complaint that I have is that it makes thin patties. I wanted to use this for making 1/2 pound burgers... I accomplished the task by over-stuffing it and just finishing up by hand, but it would be nice to see another version of this that makes patties about twice as thick as this one.

Wafer Burger Patty Maker,

If you want burgers as thin as you get at most fast food burger joints then this is the patty maker for you. The description reads:
Product Dimensions: 5 x 5 x 1.5 inches That led me to believe it would make 1-1/2" thick patties. Wrong. That dimension is actually the total height of the entire press including the lift handle. I wish the other people's reviews had been available before I purchased this so I wouldn't have wasted my money. I guess you could always stack them together to achieve the desired patty thickness. Fortunately I purchased another brand that does make thick patties plus it has a few storage containers that you can freeze extras in and it doesn't require patty paper either.

Lame design. Makes only lop-sided, super thin burgers. Pressed one burger. Dropped press in trash can.

I figure eight bucks is worth a punt. but design seems backwards. the patties come out wafer thin. and they stick so you need wax paper. I might return this junk.
