I was looking for the Wilton offset spatula, but only found this one, so I bought it. The metal blade is very flimsy. You have to have a light, fluffy frosting if you want to spread it easily with this knife. Good for glazes, too. The Wilton knife I had was at least 3 times as thick in the blade...darn kid lost it somewhere, ugh.

I will continue the search for the Wilton.

I bake a lot and needed an offset spatula for frosting cakes. I looked at several on Amazon and settled on this one because it was less expensive. It was much smaller than I expected (My own fault, for failing to see that the 8 1/4 " measurement is "overall" which means including the handle). I was disappointed in the size. I use it as planned, but it takes a while to frost a cake with this tiny spatula! It might be better for frosting cookies.

Bought for cake decorating. Works okay. Flexible. But, blade smaller than thought and cheaply made. Delicate feel is good for delicate work.

I have wanted an Offset Spatula since I observed a You
Tube video where I learned an easy way (for me) to make a grilled-cheese sandwich. The person making the sandwich
first buttered two slices of bread on their "facing" sides. These went into a skillet and were cooked to a light golden-brown.
They were then removed from the skillet and became the "inside" facing slices of bread. While they were on a plate the cheese and other fillings desired, such as tomato slices, onion slices, lunch meat and so on were added between slices of cheese.
These were returned to the skillet, where one side was buttered, flipped to become the "bottom" side of the sandwich and the remaining side was then buttered and frying proceeded as one might expect. The "Offset" nature of the Spatula made
buttering bread in the skillet an easy procedure, rather than my ending up with my hands buttered. I must explain that I
really like grilled-cheese sandwiches and the Spatula was ideal for this purpose. If one is not a grilled-cheese fanatic he or she might not find the product as useful as I have. I await discovery of a multitude of other uses for this product but I could not be happier with it and Amazon's usual swift delivery. I heartily recommend this Spatula to all grilled cheese cognoscenti.
