5.0 out of 5 stars Soothing Comfort in a Bottle!
The "in-the-bottle" smell is fresh, and gentle, similar to Johnson's Bedtime Bath, although a much more milder version. I don't associate the scent with the typical baby-fresh smell; however, it's definitely baby appropriate. This is probably a good thing for those wanting a mild soap; yet don't want to smell like a baby. Johnson's Softwash Calming Body Wash is rich,...

1.0 out of 5 stars Take the warning on the bottle seriously
There is a warning on the bottle about severe allergic reactions to this product, yet Johnson's markets it to be "safe enough for newborns." My 3-year-old son had a gradual, but severe allergic reaction to this product that started during the night while he was sleeping - thankfully his breathing was not effected. There is a warning on the bottle about severe allergic reactions to this product, yet Johnson's markets it to be "safe enough for newborns." My 3-year-old son had a gradual, but severe allergic reaction to this product that started during the night while he was sleeping - thankfully his breathing was not effected. He had hives that got so bad his joints were swollen and he had difficulty walking. The Environmental Working Group, www.ewg.org, lists this product as one of the "Top 10 Most Dangerous Baby Washes."

1.0 out of 5 stars Severe Allergic Reaction from my baby...., September 24, 2006
This review is from: Johnson's Calming Body Wash for Baby Soft Skin 13.5 oz (400 ml) (Health and Beauty)
My 3.5 year old has no asthma or breathing problems, but she does have LIFE THREATENING food allergies. I tried to bathe her and she screamed in pain and little bumps began appearing all over her body. I'm going to dive into this one. My suggestion: Don't buy it! You just don't know if/when an allergic reaction can take place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soothing Comfort in a Bottle!, July 3, 2005
This review is from: Johnson's Calming Body Wash for Baby Soft Skin 13.5 oz (400 ml) (Health and Beauty)
Johnson's Softwash Calming Body Wash is rich, and velvety to the touch. One only needs a small amount to do the job. It leaves the skin feeling clean as well as soft, and I didn't detect any soap residue. The lather is mild, which I prefer. It foams up enough to clean the skin, yet it's not too sudsy to rinse a wet, and wild baby. Once rinsed, and dried the soap leaves a slight scent on the skin, yet it does not linger long. I use both the Johnson's Softwash Calming Body Wash, and the Bedtime Bath in conjunction with one another, and the bathroom, and my boy smell heavenly.

When I first used the product, I actually washed my body and my face, so I could test the "No More Tears" claim. The soap actually got into my eyes, and it was irritating. It only lasted a second, or two, and it didn't produce tears. I am pleased with the result, as this soap is not a baby shampoo; therefore, it's not apt to get in my sons eyes. I definitely recommend this product to anyone wanting a relaxing bathing experience, although I would like to caution people with allergies, and asthma, as the product may cause problems. I think the calming qualities, and lotion-like results are worth the price.
