5.0 out of 5 stars It's the better alternative to deodorants, well tolerated
Yes, it's good for babies and there's little doubt that J&J expected to be primarily used to treat babies' diaper rashes and to help babies feel fresh and comfortable. It just happens that it's equally good for grownups. Grownups too want to feel fresh and comfortable and Baby Powder can address that need.

3.0 out of 5 stars it isn't fragrance free - smells just like baby powder
One person who reviewed this product suggested that is was fragrance free. But it has the usual baby powder fragrance.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's the better alternative to deodorants, well tolerated, February 28, 2009
This review is from: Johnson's Baby Powder, Pure Cornstarch with Aloe & Vitamin E, 15-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6) (Health and Beauty)

I learned the Baby Powder's secret the hard way. Many years ago, I developed a mild allergy - or intolerance - to most perfumes and fragrances. I simply could not use deodorants any longer but I had no problem with Baby Powder came to the rescue. I find the Baby Powder to be as good or better than most deodorants. Used after the morning shower it keeps me fresh for most of the rest of the day and my skin seems to tolerate it quite well even though it is discretely fragrant.

Briefly, I like to use Baby Powder for the following reasons:

- does not irritate my skin

- keeps me feel fresh and clean for many hours

- discrete or no fragrance - does not broadcast its existence to the world

- lasts forever, for as long as it's not exposed to excessive moisture

- it's (relatively) inexpensive - when compared to the deodorant alternatives

To my surprise, I am now able to use the fragrant varieties without adverse reactions. I normally used the unscented variety but I know of family members who would use the aloe or other flavors.

Note: Baby Powder is NOT supposed to be expensive. Look around for the best deals at this site as some offers are better than others.

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic powder, August 22, 2011

I do a mix between talc-free Burt's Bees dusting powder (for body) and this powder - Johnson's lavender for my hair. I put this powder in my hair everyday to make it even more dry (i have an oily scalp). It makes my hair fluffy and I love the way it smells! I wish it came in a talc free version.

The chamomile and lavender lend a subtle special fragrance to this powder....it is not overwhelming...very soothing and comforting especially in the summer - but nice in the winter too!

I love the smell of the Lavender & Chamomile baby powder. This is not the typical baby powder this is a Special kind of powder that only the best put on their children. A Natural all the way. And i love how my baby's skin feels soft along with my hands. I even have used this for after the bath. Worth giving it a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME MEDICATED BABY POWDER...FOR ME!!, August 8, 2011
I love this Medicated Baby Powder!!! Where I live its very hot and humid during the Summer months and I sweat pretty bad, which results in an itchy rash that eventually creates a burning sensation on my skin. I found this medicated powder at a local grocery store, and when it mentioned that it contains Zinc Oxide and that it soothes rashes and skin irritations, I had to try it. I sprinkle it fairly generously pretty much everywhere on me that sweats after I shower, and it keeps me so comfortable and dry, and prevents me from getting those itchy; burning rashes and irritated skin. What a relief!! I can really feel a difference by using this. And I'm happy that it contains "Corn Starch" and not "Talc"!! Plus I love the baby powder scent. Now that I know its available on Amazon, if the grocery store stops carrying this, I know where to go to buy it. This stuff is wonderful!!! I highly recommend it and rate it FIVE STARS!!!!!!!!

Johnson's uses CORNSTARCH in this powder, not talc. Why is that essential?

Have you done the research on talc? If you did, you would never use any product that contains it on your baby.

iVillage states: talc can cause pneumonia, inflammation (or swelling) of the airways of babies, and even death.

Once again, this Johnson's baby powder DOES NOT contain talc.

Johnson makes baby powder that does contain talc. Stay away from it. However you can't go wrong by choosing this powder.

Oh, and did I mention the fragrance is fantastic?!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value!, March 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a huge bottle of baby powder! You really get your money's worth (and more)! I have used Johnson's in the past but the original scent. This Lavender and Chamomile scent is a lot nicer. It still smells like baby powder, but more pleasant. I use this as a body powder for myself after a shower and also as a dry shampoo. Works just like any other baby powder for those purposes, but like I stated before - smells nicer. The scent is a bit strong for me, I am not really a fan of the baby powder scent in general, and do not like to smell like it, so spraying perfume on after is a must for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not only great for baby , excellent for adults also. Good for heat rash., January 19, 2009

I have used this for years on all my kids and grandkids to prevent diaper rash, since Johnson and Johnson started corn starch baby powder. My husband keeps this as staple to use after bathing. Years ago he had severe heat rash and used corn starch,t hen this became avaliable and he now uses it after every bath, and he has not had heat rash since. Plus he smells really nice.

1.0 out of 5 stars Strong odor!, August 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this from a retail store last year and nearly use up so I deceided to purchase from Amazon because it is cheaper. However, it smells totally different! The one I used has a mild and soothing smell, but this one is very strong. The lid also has a darker purple color than the original one. I believe the manufacturer has changed the formula, but still using the same label and description.
