5.0 out of 5 stars The best nursing pads available

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for heavy leakers with big breasts
I tried both the Johnson's and Lansinoh disposable pads, and I definitely prefer the Lansinoh. Here is why:

As a nursing mother, I have tried many brands of nursing pads and found what I was looking for in the Johnson & Johnson brand. Unlike Medela or Lansinoh, these pads are a little smaller in circumference and do not bunch up inside your bra. They are very soft and absorbent, wicking moisture or leakage into the center of the pad and leaving your skin dry, and thus, healthy. You can typically expect to pay $6 or $7 for a month's supply (60 pads) and you don't have to deal with unwrapping each individual pad as you must with other brands. I've seen other reviewers claim that this is unsanitary, but I beg to differ. If you keep the pads face down in the box with the lid closed, you need not worry about them becoming "contaminated." Besides, you are not putting these on an open wound, they serve merely as a vehicle to prevent you from embarrassing leaks. Each pad also comes with an adhesive strip on the back, though I have never found occasion to use them. They are convex in shape for a perfect fit and because of an indention that allows space for the nipple, there is no uncomfortable "pressing" or shifting around. They simply stay in place, even without using the adhesive.
If you are planning to nurse for a long period of time, these are the best product for your buck. I use nothing else and could not recommend them more highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Johnson's Nursing Pads, January 17, 2010

Johnson's Nursing pads are by far the best nursing pads. The outer layer (the part that touches your breast) is so soft, where the Lansinoh ones honestly feel like fiberglass on your nipples the first few weeks. I could not understand why everyone said that was the one to get... However, after telling this problem to my OBGYN, he told me his wife found the Johnson's ones and loved them, but he said they were so hard to find. And, other than Amazon, they are hard to find... but completely worth it.

I tried both the Johnson's and Lansinoh disposable pads, and I definitely prefer the Lansinoh. Here is why:

- the Johnson's are smaller, but thicker. I have large breasts, and they just about cover my areolae. When they shift (and they do, I tend to toss and turn at night), they'll easily slide off the nipple. Result: soaked bed. The sticky part isn't very sticky. Neither is Lansinoh's, but at least they're big enough so that the nipple is still covered, even if they do slide.
-The Johnson's don't wick away the moisture very well. I've leaked through them at night, but part of the edge was still dry. I've only leaked through the Lansinoh's when the pad was completely saturated, and they may look thinner, but they can take up a lot more than the Johnson's can.
-With the Johnson's, the side that is not supposed to stick sometimes sticks to my nipple! This happens during the day, when I'm not leaking. Annoying, especially if your nipples are already sensitive and recovering from cracks.

Overall, I think they might do the job and even be comfortable if you have smaller breasts and less leakage than I do, but for me they're not doing the trick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than other brands, May 2, 2011

I tried the other brands, Medela and Lanisoh, and I have to say, these J&J are the best.
They have better padding for absorbing, as well as the the cups are actual cup shapes. Medela and Lanisoh have a flat circle with a dart or 2, so it is lumpy in a nursing bra.
Also, the surface of the J&J are smoother in feel.

These pads worked fine. However, I don't prefer the Johnson's nursing pads to the Medela brand of nursing pads because:
~ Medela pads are thinner than Johnson's
~ Medela pads are individually-wrapped
~ Medela pads don't poke out (noticeable through my nursing bra and top) at the tip of the nipple
~ Medela pads stay put inside my nursing bra better

2.0 out of 5 stars Sticks to nipples, February 2, 2010

These are the perfect size, very absorbent, and do not bunch up. The only problem with them is they stuck to my nipples. My nipples were already sore and cracked, so trying to unstick these just made it more painful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for all 3 of my babies!, July 27, 2008

We have 3 children and I nursed my first 2 for 7 months or more. I am now nursing our 3rd baby and I have gone through all the different brands of nursing pads. I find these to be the best in regards to fit, absorbency, and comfort. I haven't had 1 leak EVER (other brands have let me down)!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best disposables out there., June 2, 2008

A Pack "AJ" (Minnesota, USA) - See all my reviews
I tried many different kinds of disposable nursing pads when first nursing my daughter. These were not only some of the cheapest, but they were by far the best. They are thick enough and absorbent enough that they never leaked, and they didn't show through. They are soft and comfortable as well. I don't think I will use any other brand after using these.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do NOT buy these, March 27, 2010

Save your money and do not buy these. I bought a 3 pack of these thinking I would save a bit of money, having never tried them before. I hate them! The covering sticks to my nipples if they are still a bit wet from nursing. Yeah, imagine having to pull that off! Ouch!! Plus they are not bonded well at the edges. I have had a few seperate and the other day the front cover actually worked back far enough that the cottony inside stuck all over my breast! The worst part is I still have 2 more of these boxes left. If you want my opinion, go buy the playtex ones. They are cheaper and 100 times better!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for small breasts and don't bunch, or itch., July 18, 2011
This review is from: Johnson's Nursing Pads, 60-Count Boxes (Pack of 3) (Health and Beauty)
These pads are great! I've tried several brands, NUK (those bunch and slide around). I've also tried Lansinoh, and while they are nice and thin, they are very large in circumference. These Johnson and Johnson pads are the perfect size and also have an indent in the middle for the nipple. They also do not itch like others. These are not individually wrapped which I like (Lansinoh pads were). Great for fitting in a smaller bra. Great absorption.
