A great book for jumpstarting your spirit. Gets you thinking and acting on making positive changes in your life. Filled with pearls of wisdom. Thought provoking, quick to read. A wonderful reference for living.

The Golden Rule Revolution inspires us to be our best and then gives us the tools to make it happen. As Elaine Parke the author says, " Together we can brighten the world that we live in."

I wish all adults would read this book so they would be nicer to kids and respect us too. Many adults aren't as nice and caring as they sbould be and they should read this book.

In this day and age of quick fixes, Ms. Parke takes us back to basics. Her words remind us of what we were taught by our grandparents-do unto others. The daily format is easy to fit into the busiest of schedules. The inspirational text is targeted for all ages. My teenagers find the program worthwhile and sensible. Unlike other texts that tell us what we are all doing wrong, this expresses the positives in all of us.

Finally, an inspirational book for ALL ages. I own and operate a family daycare home, and I have been reading each days "habit" to my school-age kids. It has stimulated some great discussions. We also spend the rest of the day practicing each "habit". I must confess, I just had to read ahead! Definitely a keeper, to read and reread.

I have long admired Elaine Parke's work and her approach to creating a more caring society. It's great to finally have this book.

This book is the ONLY way to start your NEW YEAR 2001 right. Its 1/2 page inspirations for each day all nourish one idea for happiness each month and are uplifting and provocative. Anyone can be nourished by reading this totally enjoyable book. We need everyone to start practicing this stuff NOW - I hope everyone gets this book and begins practicing the Golden Rule with this book.

This book is an expansion of the great Caring Habbit of the Month Adventures. The book is one we all can learn from. I look forward to passing this book along to others, just like I pass the Caring Habits of the Month themes along. The information is simple to process, makes a lot of sense and most of all, makes you feel good inside.

This book is wonderful and would be especially great for teens. It is such a good guide for children that both parents work and have no one there for them as often as needed. It is totally positive and provides a way teens or anyone can wake up each morning and start the day with a good thought.

I read the twice entered review of Larry Ferrguson. As the author who spent 10 years researching the information provided in Join the Golden Rule Revolution and who lives near Ellwood City, I tried to reach Mr.Ferrguson to discuss his entry. I found no listing for such a person in the Ellwood City phone book.

I want to share with potential book buyers that the design of this book is already PROVEN as a method that can help us improve our good habits. Our non-profit public school program, based on the same monthly habit-building strategy as my book, Join the Golden Rule Revolution, is currently serving 5,600 students in the greater Pittsburgh Region. Results of this habit-building program in its pilot test school increased the student honor roll by 18%, doubled the number of students doing homework regularly, and reduced detentions and suspensions by 25% after a 93% rise. Below is the letter from the principal of this school, which is excerpted from the Forward of the book.

FORWARD

Melvin H. Steals, Ph.D.

Before the good fortune that brought Elaine Parke into my middle school building, it was one of the most violent and lowest performing middle schools in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. No one, including this principal, was safe from physical assault. This was due in no small part to the pervasion of a pernicious street culture and the widespread belief among the students that few of their teachers truly cared about them. It was at this point that Elaine appeared upon the scene.

The adjective that best describes the effect that she engendered is angelic. She unleashed a powerful tidal wave of positive emotion within our midst that we had never before experienced. In short, her Caring Habit of the Month Adventure program not only had a profoundly positive impact upon the feeling tone within the building, it also caused everyone who came into our school to be more caring about each other.

In closing, I have seen firsthand and personally experienced the chaos that has invaded many of our nation's schools. Elaine Parke's clearly defined prescriptions for positive change significantly reduced the fear that used to make learning so difficult within my former middle school.

I would highly recommend her book, The GOLDEN RULE REVOLUTION to everyone, and her Caring Habit of the Month Adventure program to any school district that has any concerns about operating a safe and orderly learning environment.
