Beautiful music...originally released in Australia on the La Brava label. Now available on Sackville...those of us who remember and cherish "Partners in crime" from 20 odd years ago will know just how brilliant these musicians are/were.
The Australian musicians playing drums, bass, and reeds with Bob and Ralph are more than just adequate...they are, perhaps, the big surprise here. Musicians like this, with mature idiomatic conceptions, enhance the music enormously.
This is small group swing at its finest. Bob and Ralph are at their best and the OTHER musicians are superb! Sound quality is excellent...tune selection is great...THIS IS A KEEPER

This is Jazz at its best. Dynamic, swinging and beutifully played. Get anything from Bob Barnard you can get you hands on. I haven't heard Fats played this briliantly in a long time.
