pull up bar,

This review is from: Joist Mount Chin Up Bar (Misc.)
Bar is sturdy and the included hardware made for easy installation into a joist beam in my garage. Only minor issue is that the grip surface is a little slick when you begin to sweat, so might need to use resin or wear some gloves for a better grip.

"Heavy Duty" is how I would describe this pull up bar. It mounts to a ceiling beam that is typically found in an unfinished basement/garage with four heavy-duty bolts. It does require a drill and minor skill to be sure that the pull up bar is level. The bar itself and the grips have a pretty wide diameter (not a skinny bar) -- this can give you a considerable forearm workout just from doing pull-ups.the only thing that keeps me from giving this five stars is the fact that there is another model (for $20 more) that has transverse handles which gives you another angle to work out at. Probably worth the extra money.

Product came fast and is very good quality. Don't know why the other guy needed lag bolts - it works fine with the bolts that come with it. I'd think you'd want to go all the way through the joist as long as you're drilling four holes anyway - stronger.
At first I thought it should have padding but after two weeks weeks my hands got used to it and now I'm glad it doesn't have padding. Doin' pullups - and zero floor space. If only my old fat ex-marine gym teacher could see me now!

I was looking for a solid steel industrial type pull up bar. I also needed one that allowed for wide and close grip pull/chin ups. This is very sturdy and well worth the price. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Its a god bar, the only drawback was that the bolts provided were only long enough to go through one joist. My garage has enginered trusses, so the bottom cord is only a two by four and I decided to double it up with a two by six. and needed to go to the store and get longer bolts. It would have been good to have a second set of longer bolts included. Once the bar is mounted, its strong and has good grip. No complants

Solid piece of equipment allowing a solid mount. I mounted on the joists in my basement w/ a standard 8 foot ceiling. This arrangement provides much more vertical distance to work with than the bars that mount in a doorway; I'm 5' 11". The vertical distance is not ideal but quite sufficient. I purchased ab straps from Valero to go with the bar giving me excellent, EXCELLENT, ab work as well. The only detraction from the bar is its poor paint job. The paint began flaking off with the first use. No big deal; it can be covered with athletic tape. Rating at 4 stars instead of 5 is probably too much of a hit for this excellent purchase.

EASY TO INSTALL. I DIDN'T NEED ANY ADDITIONAL HARDWARE, I KNOW SOME PEOPLE DID. DELIVERED VERY QUICKLY. IT SEEMS VERY STIRDY, I'M 185 lbs AND IT HOLDS ME NO PROBLEM. ONE PROBLEM THOUGH IS THE GRIP ON THE BAR CAN HURT YOUR HANDS A LITTLE. I USE WEIGHT GLOVES. I ALSO MIGHT WRAP IT IN ATHLETIC TAPE.

It's a pull up bar, so not much to report other than that. Arrived faster than amazon estimated. In terms of the hardware, the bolts are not very long and leave very little room when screwing in. Also, one of the washers was missing, but that's not a big deal in my opinion. Good purchase, good seller. Highly recommended.
