5.0 out of 5 stars Great Oil For Hair
This is a very light oil that I use for my hair. It keep my hair from dying out and it is also recommded to put a few drops in your favorite shampoo and conditioner. I like to apply it directly to my hair after it is washed. It also prevents hair breakage. I love this oil. It works wonders for hair if you use it 2-3 times a week depending on how dry your hair gets. This...

2.0 out of 5 stars fishy smell
I don't know whether jojoba oil should smell like fish. The one i got sure does. May be it's too old? I smelled a few jojoba oils in the vitamine shoppe when I was there last time, all of those had a pleasant smell (or no smell at all). This one is strange, I am not sure I will keep using it.

4.0 out of 5 stars About the smell..., February 12, 2010

Jojoba oil is great. It won't clog pores (it actually cleans them -- long term it's better than biore strips), it absorbs quickly into the skin, and it protects your skin from drying all day.

Some brands are highly refined and purified. When you research on-line you'll see that the oil is often described as colorless and odorless. That's not the case with the NOW brand.

NOW is a little more natural. While it's not totally refined, it's still pretty stable stuff. It should have a shelf life equivalent to canola oil (and I've never actually experienced rancid or stale canola oil).

Being more natural, it's not completely odorless. It's not an entirely good smell. It's a little smoky, a little funky. Kind of like a cross between bacon and patchouli. But it's pretty mild so you'll notice it when you squirt it into your hand and start rubbing it in but you probably won't smell it much after you've rubbed it in. And others won't notice it on you. I don't find it all that offensive anyway. I put a little cologne on after I'm done and I think the smell fades into the background in a very pleasant way.

HOWEVER... Some people posess a genetic variation that makes them sensitive to certain compounds in jojoba oil. To them, it smells like rotten fish. Fortunately, this is a very small minority of the population. And if you are one of them you might already know who you are because perhaps cooking oil smells the same way to you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Confused consumer, March 12, 2008

I like this oil, but I'm having a hard time figuring out just how to make it work correctly in my hair. If I put it straight into my shampoo bottle, it doesn't work. If I put it straight on my hair after I shampoo, I usually get oily strands of hair that look and feel greasy. It's a tricky process using it this way, and hard to wash it all out.

I think the oil has potential to replace my conditioner, I just don't know how to get it to work properly.

Positives: in the areas that it washes out properly when applied seperately after a shampoo, it doesn't feel like there is any conditioner in my hair, but it leaves my hair soft and shiny even after I blow dry it.

I would first off like to say that i ordered it on monday,may18 & received it today, wednesday, may 20...

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!

I never expected it to be so quick.

the jojoba oil was not what i expected, i squirted out a bit to feel it & was surprised. from other reviews, i was expecting a wax kind of feel but it actually feels exactly like lavender oil when yu first put it on your skin.

HOWEVER after a few seconds i can feel that it has moisturized my skin. my fingertips feel wonderful writing this review but NOWHERE near oily. i also squirted it on my thigh & the look of my two thighs are now different. the one with jojoba oil doesnt look oily or moisturized but healthy..so fast? weird isnt it?

All & All im happy. excellent product from an excellent brand sold by an excellent seller....SO HAPPY!

i am plannin on mixing this with sweet almond oil & raw unrefined shea butter to make a pure wonderful moisturizer...

I'D LIKE TO SAY I BOUGHT THIS FROM ALLSTARHEALTH. (I DNT KNOW WHY IT SHOWED UP HERE) ALL STAR HEALTH IS MUCH CHEAPER

I love jojoba oil. I still use it in my hair and body butter recipes. However, I have moved on to the big time and now purchase it by the gallon from a different source.

I got tired of my hair being dried out and smelling of chemicals from using Head and Shoulders and Selsun Blue, and wanted to try a natural alternative. I researched online and several sites recommended Jojoba oil, so I decided to give it a try.

4 months ago I started a regimen of rubbing 3-4 drops of jojoba oil into my scalp daily and shampooing only once a week with regular shampoo. It has helped my dandruff issues at least as much as the normal dandruff treatments. Better yet, my hair no longer smells of chemicals and has become softer and just much more enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend using this product for your hair even if you don't have dandruff.

For a month I've been applying a few drops on my face and shoulders and it has helped my skin look much better. I still get mild acne, but my skin is much softer and my acne seems to heal faster. I imagine it would work really well in combination with something like Proactive.

Price wise, this jojoba oil is a great value. I have not even used half the bottle after 4 months of daily use. I will be buying more if I ever run out.

Just used this for the first time. I put a tablespoon in my shampoo. I don't think my hair has ever been this soft. Amazing!

I used this on my 4c hair and it moisturized it very well. I also used it on my legs, arms, and hands and it made my skin so smooth and soft. I will definitely buy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for eczema, January 12, 2010
This review is from: Jojoba Oil (Health and Beauty)
I have very dry, sensitive skin and got this in my local health food store (~$27) because I read that it is similar to the skin's natural sebum.

I've been using it for about 2 weeks, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day, and have used half the bottle! Gonna have to order the next bottle soon, because I plan on continuing to use it. It's nice and light and has NOT caused the itching, dryness, redness of the eczema to spread, like other oils have. It does have a mild scent, but I don't mind.

I apply it to my wet skin after my shower, like I used to do with coconut oil. It's not as heavy as coconut oil, so I find that i have to reapply it during the day.
