1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't arrive!
My son has been expecting this for 4 weeks now. Every day he checks the letterbox and every day he is disappointed.

While doing some Christmas shopping for holiday books for my grand daughters, I came across this book. I bought it not really knowing what it was. I am so glad that it was one of the books I chose. Great illustrations, wonderful little greeting cards and other novel things to open that the postman delivers to Red Riding Hood, Gingerbread Boy and others, tucked in pocket pages. The postman finally ends up with a visit to Santa. This book will be a repeat purchase by me as gifts for many children and "big kids" I know for years to come. It's different, clever and fun - A book that will become a tradition to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Creative and Funny, November 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Jolly Christmas Postman (Hardcover)
Even though I am already eleven years old I am still obsessed with this book. It is funny and the pictures are marvelous. I plan on buying this book for Christmas. This book is for all ages. It is about a postman who goes around delivering mail. On each page there is a little pocket that contains a message/mail. I loved reading this book and I bet you will too.

5.0 out of 5 stars travel book, January 8, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Jolly Christmas Postman (Hardcover)
My children received this book as a Christmas gift just before we left for a 700 mile trip to visit grandparents. It is an ideal book to pack for such a trip. The story itself and the letters tucked inside the book kept them busy for hours, and they wanted to read it over and over. That was okay with me, I really enjoyed reading it to them. It is a fantastic book! In fact, I logged on to see if there are other "Jolly Postman" books. Thank goodness there are.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've bought 8 of these over the past 20 years!, July 14, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this for my daughter and later I bought it for friends' children. I'll probably search for it for my grandchildren too. You can probably guess that I like it! Buying for kids is such fun because you get the wow factor, and then you get to see whether they really take to it by reading/playing with it. Kids don't fib about this stuff, do they! I can report 100% success. The enthusiam they have for all the hidden messages, cards, games is so sweet. This truly is a gift that grows and grows on them.

Note - if you have to get a used one, verify all the bits are included. The book wouldn't work without those.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reading Center students ask for the information to buy it!, December 18, 2000
This review is from: The Jolly Christmas Postman (Hardcover)
Being a Reading Specialist working with at risk readers from first grade through fourth grade, any book that makes them want to read is a winner with me. My fourth graders wanted the information on how to find the book! The book also gave us a reason to review nursery rhymes without feeling that it is a "baby" thing for fourth graders to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific book, but advanced for toddlers, December 23, 2008
A co-worker of mine got this book and I was entranced. It's a different kind of book in that tells a story while including interesting goodies in all the mail the characters receive.

This has met with mixed success with my son. He is three, and isn't familiar enough with the fairy tales to understand the humor. He gets a little bored with the story, but still likes checking the mail. As he gets older, he'll appreciate it much more.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST-HAVE in every child's library!, November 23, 2008
I have owned this book for over 10 years and it thrills every child I've shared it with from ages 3-7! They LOVE reading the mail and it has a cute way of using familiar characters. I highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interactive fun book for children., July 2, 2008
Simply one of the best holiday books for children! Interactive, which makes it very fun for kids. My kids were given this book when they were little (they're both in college now). The memories of reading this book with my kids really stuck with me; this year I bought two copies to give to my niece and nephew (now 2 and 3 yrs. old) and a third copy for a friend's children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christmas Cards!, January 22, 2008

If you liked the Jolly Postman, you will love this book too! It's all the fun of opening up your favorite fairy tale characters' mail with a Christmas theme! This book is super cute. I love opening up the letters from their individual envelopes. I am also always amazed by the art work. Every time I look through this book, I notice new little details that I didn't see before. Two big thumbs up!
