5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best toys!
My dogs are big chewers and I am always looking for toys that are not destroyed in a day and that are not so hard that they will break their teeth.
There a only a few toys that fit this description and the Jolly Teaser ball is one of them. They last for months and provide a lot of good chewing.
There are different sizes, the bigger ones last longer...

3.0 out of 5 stars Warning: Can Cause Injury
My 8 month GSD loved his 10" Teaser Ball - too much. He chewed the edges of the openings until rough, then picked it up and shook it proudly. It sliced off a patch of his previously beautiful face, taking skin with hair. If you can quickly train your dog not to chew on it and shake it, it's a great toy. Definitely supervise play.

For reference, the only other toys that I have found that do not get pulverized into bite size, obstruction size pieces immediately are the large and x-large black kongs and goughnuts.
If you want to risk tooth fractures you can go with the Galileo bones as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best yard toy, August 12, 2006

My 3 large dogs LOVE these balls. They can carry the biggest ones around in their mouths (bottom jaw in one of the holes). They are easy to throw and/or kick for a good game of fetch. One of my dogs thinks that getting the inner ball out is the object. He regularly has one of his paws inside one of the holes so he can collapse the small inside ball and tries to grab it with his teeth. He also sticks his nose inside a hole and walks around with it balancing on his snout. These balls do wear out eventually so I replace them every 3-6 months or so. They also crack if they are thrown onto hard objects (rock/cement). The only reason I'm not rating this a 5 is because the plastic on the newer ones seems to be less durable than it used to be...? Otherwise, these and the Galileo bones are the only things my dogs don't destroy on day one.

5.0 out of 5 stars My crazy dog's absolute favorite toy!, March 4, 2009
My dog is one of those hyper herding breeds. He's smart, energetic, and impossible to wear out. This teaser ball has been a sanity saver for the both of us. He will take this ball outside or down in the basement and play with it all by himself! I keep one at home and one in the car, and one at the boarding place. He's about 55 lbs. and the 8" size is just right for him. He 'herds' it with his nose all over the yard. When he gets to the lot line, he picks it up and starts all over again. If I'm outside when he's playing with it, he 'herds' it to me so I can pick it up and throw it - I think he'd be pretty good on a soccer team! His first one held up for 3 years of hard play, until my brother threw it and it hit a tree. It cracked but Otis still plays with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Can be chewed through quickly, April 20, 2010
My dog has had several of these balls and loves them. We've renamed them Crack Balls because he is addicted to them. The only thing is that he can chew through them fairly quickly. I think that they've started to make them with thinner plastic, so they don't last very long. It's kind of disappointing because I love watching him play with it, but I can't justify the price when they only last a day or so.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best dog toy ever, August 31, 2008

My dog absolutely loves this toy. Just looking at it with the ball inside (touchable but unable to be chewed), we figured she would like it. We couldn't have guessed how much though. I brought it home last night and she played with it for over an hour straight. I took it away, then, so she'd have some down time (she was obsessively playing with it and wouldn't stop even for food). Today, I took it out again and it's been about 40 minutes straight that the toy has captivated her. She puts one foot in the hole to touch the ball and then takes it and chews to get at it. She also loves pushing balls like this around the house and this one is no exception. She is a touch chewer and destroys most of the toys she gets. This one has held up though (it is made of a really tough plastic). She has been able to put some teeth marks in it but even when she scratches it the plastic doesn't come off (so won't be swallowed -- I cut some of the scratched plastic off today before giving it to her again). I'm impressed how well this ball has held up given the workout she's been giving it (there aren't many toys she can't break). This is a great toy and well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heavy Duty!, September 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have a 130-140 pound mastiff who is extremely playful. He's not quite 3 and still acts very much puppyish. I purchased this ball about two years ago, just hoping it might hold up a week or so because nothing seems to last in our house. Well, the Jolly Ball is still in one piece today and still his favorite toy. He carries it around by the holes and "kicks" it around with his feet all the time. We have even taken it to the river where it partially sinks and he dives for it. I HIGHLY reccomend this ball for any of the massive breeds. My corgi does not like the ball at all.

This review is from: Jolly Pet 10-Inch Teaser Ball, Red (Misc.)
This ball has a great concept but my dog does not care for it since the outer portion is hard plastic. I also do not feel it is worth 20 dollars.

2.0 out of 5 stars Jolly Ball doesn't hold interest, May 15, 2009

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My labrador retriever hasn't shown an interest in the 10" Jolly Pet Teaser Ball. I have tried to encourage her to play with it but no luck. She doesn't have any sort of obsession with balls or playing fetch, one or two throws and she's done, so possibly it just isn't her thing. It looks fun to me and I can certainly see where some dogs would find it fascinating.
