Good Book - Bad Effect,
By A Customer
This review is from: Jon Benet's Mother: The Tragedy and The Truth! (Paperback)
This book should never have been written. I believe the Ramseys are innocent of the murder of little JonBenét, however, when reading this book, my suspicion began to grow. Linda McLean tries to present Patsy as a perfect woman, who did everything well, who only had friends, etc.. But nobody is perfect. Patsy like anyone has her bad times. Linda Mc Lean tries to make us believe that Patsy was perfect 24/7.. It doesnt work. It actually works the other way around ! If this book was aimed at changing people's point of view on the case, making them see that Patsy Ramsey is not evil... then, try again.

A book based on love and friendship, not on facts, by fermed,
By Fernando Melendez "fermed" (San Diego, California USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jon Benet's Mother: The Tragedy and The Truth! (Paperback)
Written as a 'cri de coeur,' a work of love and friendship towards the Ramseys, the book is careful to avoid any isue that would taint the image of the Ramseys as a perfect couple: perfect lovers, perfect friends, perfect parents, perfect citizens. There is an irony in painting such a picture: the book contains the classic information that is offered in court after a person has been convicted of a crime: relatives, ministers, fellow workers, and whoever is willing to utter a favorable remembrance of the convict is brought before the court to try to mitigate the severity of whatever sentence is about to be passed. This short book is packed with pictures (I counted 69) of the Ramseys at home and at play. It contains dozens of letters and snippets by those who love the family: some were quite moving; but there are no new iterpretations of the facts, and certainly no new facts pertaining to the murder of JonBenét. The book is not about the murder, but rather about what fine people the Ramseys are.

For non-thinkers only!,

OK, we read about the perfect mother but have you ever considered how many criminals were true 'angels' before the were arrested for their hideous crimes? Too many indeed. As far as I am concerned, Patsy Ramsey has to be judged based on the facts and not her life-style before the 25th December 1996, and the facts are that she may not killed her daughter, but surely covers up the killer..

Patsy was a murderer,

I have no doubt in my mind that this woman snapped and clobbered her daughter upside the head with one of her many trophies. The girl peed her bed nightly and I think Patsy snapped. BUT, why does a child pee their beds...sometimes a medical condition, sometimes because of abuse. She dresses her daughter up like a little prostitute and practically hands her over to her husband to appease his sexual appetite while she is going through cancer treatment. I think Patsy got very jealous and snapped.

Propaganda,
By A Customer
This review is from: Jon Benet's Mother: The Tragedy and The Truth! (Paperback)
Useless Ramsey propaganda which skips every major detail of the murder investigation. Patsy Ramsey is apparently perfect, with the exception of that brutal murder of course. What murder you may ask?

HOGWASH!,

This review is from: Jon Benet's Mother: The Tragedy and The Truth! (Paperback)
I tossed this book in my circular file. Linda Mc- lean sees Patsy through the filters of emotion and the fact that she has a relationship with her. She does no justice to the facts of the case. Her book is just an emotional backlash at the gereral public who believe that the parents are guilty.

And Susan Smith's Friends Liked Her Too,
By A Customer
This review is from: Jon Benet's Mother: The Tragedy and The Truth! (Paperback)
So, I suppose we are to believe that if you are a wonderful, loving, perfect mother in a perfect family that you can't commit the "perfect" murder. Well, I don't buy it and neither does the American public. This family's "friends" need to have a serious talk with the family about truth, cooperation with authorities and confession.Susan Smith is a great example of a person appearing from the outside to be a wonderful, loving, and caring mother. Still, Susan Smith ws able to watch as her two sons rolled into a cold lake to their deaths. People are not perfect. Every person has their faults. Apparently some faults are so disgusting that they are hidden at all costs. How many times have we read about the minister, priest, Boy Scout leader, doctor, or family friend that molested a child? Everyone is so shocked because they thought that the newly revealed molester was the perfect person. My advise - watch out for perfect people. Their secrets would make most of our faults seem insignificant. PS - The writer of this book should get a grip on the facts of JonBenet's murder. I personally could not sleep at night knowing that I had written a book defending the prime suspects in a little girl's brutal murder. The author makes me sick! Instead of using your time to get attention and defend the suspects, use your connections to get the truth and a confession. All of JonBenet's family and friends have let her down - add the author's name to that list of losers.

A good book,
By A Customer
This review is from: Jon Benet's Mother: The Tragedy and The Truth! (Paperback)
This book shows the Ramseys from the point of view of close friends. I think it's great that so many people stood up for them. This book was not meant to address the case at all, just to show a different side of the Ramseys that we never see in the media. I believe the Ramseys are innocent. I was very moved about the part where Patsy invited her husband's ex-wife to spend Christmas with them, so she wouldn't be alone. How very compassionate. Susan Smith would never have this many close friends standing up for her..I think this is a great book for anyone interested in the case. For those who think the Ramseys are innocent, it just confirms it. For those who think they are guilty..perhaps it will help change a few minds.

Okay? So? Now What?,
By One World "One World" (Denver, CO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jon Benet's Mother: The Tragedy and The Truth! (Paperback)
This book does nothing to allay the supicion I have for Patsy. Just because Patsy's friend points out all the "wonderful" things as well as the lack of "dark sides" of Patsy does not excuse Patsy's evasive behavior and nor does it change the fact that Patsy DID have a dark side even if she did not murder her daughter. Patsy making JonBenet into her alter-ego is a "dark side" and a pretty bad one at that. The story is one sided and ends with emotional cries of foulness to the general public who feel the Ramseys are guilty (or at least acting guilty). There is no consideration of the FACTS of the murder in this pro-Patsy "Miss can do wrong" book. I am not impressed.

You only saw the side, Patsy wanted you to see.,
By Gregory R Peterson (South Royalton, VT United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jon Benet's Mother: The Tragedy and The Truth! (Paperback)
Had I committed this crime and my friends saw me as the perfect mother, I would surely have expected the same. I remember a quote from a newspaper concerning the two students who murdered the Zantop Dartmouth professors, "If these two above average young men comitted this crime I would surely lose all faith in mankind." They confessed and were convicted. So I certainly think this book did nothing but circumvent the real issues, express one's own feelings and sympathy. Good try!
